Fleet Manager manages the acquisition, operations, and maintenance of the organization's fleet of motor vehicles. Oversees scheduling and dispatch operations for vehicles and drivers. Being a Fleet Manager evaluates, purchases, leases, and disposes of vehicles to maintain the fleet. Develops and maintains vendor and service provider relationships for fuel, maintenance, and other essential services. Additionally, Fleet Manager administers insurance policy coverage, negotiates agreements, and participates in claim resolution. Develops and implements safety, preventive maintenance, and accident prevention programs. Knowledge of OSHA, DOT, and fleet-specific regulations, licensing, registration, and reporting requirements. Manages the fleet expense reporting and budgets. May require a bachelor's degree or equivalent. Typically reports to a head of a unit/department. The Fleet Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Fleet Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required.     What to Expect
    You will be a key member of the Product Management team, ensuring our growing fleet of installed products (Powerpack, Megapack) continues to meet requirements and regulatory obligations in an ever-changing energy storage industry. You will be responsible to identify and define features or product improvements and manage their commercial and technical development and release efforts.
    You will interface with external stakeholders (customers, AHJs, regulators), as well as internal commercial teams (Sales, Sales Engineering, Ops, Finance, Legal, and more), Engineering teams, and Service teams.
    You will be a key member of the Product Management team and be required to wear many hats and adapt to a fast-paced work environment. This is a multi-faceted role where strong knowledge of commercial and engineering (electrical, mechanical, systems) topics is a must, and energy and/or product management experience is highly desired. Besides a rock-solid work ethic and a strong team-oriented personality, members of our team display creativity, passion, and a desire to break new ground in a constantly shifting technology landscape.
    What You’ll Do
    • Define requirements for product improvement features, specification changes, and bug fixes (hardware, software, other)
    • Drive product lifecycle and end-of-life decisions and coordinate planning, including driving continuous improvement initiatives for the product based on data-driven insights and feedback
    • Collaborate with product support teams to address customer issues and inquiries related to product performance and capabilities, including support of ongoing changes in product capabilities through updates of sales tools, documentation, and communication
    • Stay updated on relevant industry regulations and standards and modify product requirements as necessary to ensure compliance with regulatory changes
    • Lead or support cross-functional techno-commercial discussions on fleet decisions that affect Tesla and/or customer P&L
    • Develop technical or commercial content (documentation, release notes, engineering reports, customer memos) for internal and external stakeholders
    • Success in this role will be defined by: Mitigating financial impact to Tesla and our customers and ensuring our products continue to meet our contractual obligations, while maximizing user experience and satisfaction
    What You’ll Bring
    • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, or equivalent
    • Demonstrated excellence supporting technical products, spanning hardware, firmware and software, preferably in the energy industry
    • Demonstrated ability to interact with commercial and technical stakeholders. Experience in product management preferred
    • Strong analytical skills with the ability to make data-driven decisions
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with customers, stakeholders, and cross-functional teams
    • Ability to execute many projects and tasks in parallel, across many teams, in a short timeframe, with demonstrated ability to pivot rapidly
    • Knowledge of renewable energy policies and regulations (e.g. product safety and compliance) is highly desired
    • Deep passion for changing the way we use energy on the electric grid

    Expected Compensation

    $92,000 - $300,000/annual salary cash and stock awards benefits

    Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
