Flight Inspector (Jet) inspects aircraft, aircraft systems, equipment, and parts to ensure safe flying and conformance to specifications and government regulations and procedures. Oversees part installation and inspects adjustments or modifications to existing parts. Being a Flight Inspector (Jet) performs preflight and post flight inspections identifying any breach of standards for safe flight. Requires a high school diploma, a flight inspector license. Additionally, Flight Inspector (Jet) typically reports to the Chief Flight Inspector. The Flight Inspector (Jet) independently performs a wide range of complex duties under general guidance from supervisors.     Founded in 2002 by former Cirrus Aircraft instructors, The Flight Academy is a Platinum Cirrus Training Center that specializes in training the owners and operators of Cirrus SR20 and SR22 aircraft. We are a boutique flight school which doesn’t train in the traditional manner. Our instructors travel to teach clients throughout the United States. We provide private pilot, instrument, transition, commercial training, relocation flights, adventure trips and familiarization flights to our clients. Our specialty is working with busy clients with busy schedules. To do this, we map out a plan to achieve the training objectives, tailor the schedule to our clients’ lives, and then train in full-day or multi-day blocks of time to achieve the objective. Our instructors are among the most experienced professional pilots teaching in general aviation. For more than 20 years we have prided ourselves on our knowledge of high technology aircraft as well as our capability for creating a safe and fun training environment for our clients.

    Job Description:

    The Flight Academy is seeking professional CFII flight instructors that have a zest for adventure and can teach our clients to master their aircraft and feel confident in a safe environment while having a little fun along the way. We are looking for an individual who has strong communication skills, attention to detail, and can quickly adapt to teach both new and returning students.

    Responsibilities:

    • Instructors will be required to travel extensively as we train clients at their homes throughout the United States.
    • It is possible for instructors to be on the road for up to 14 days (not consecutive) in a month.
    • Instructors should be experienced and professional educators that can provide exceptional training to our clients.
    • Instructors will be required to know the Cirrus Aircraft inside and out while providing safe, informative, and top-notch customer service.

    Requirements:

    • CFI & CFII
    • REQUIRED: Minimum 500 total hours & 250 hours dual given
    • High degree of Professionalism and attention to detail
    • Travel is a must.
    • Relocation to the Seattle Area required.
    • Cirrus Time preferred but not required.

    Compensation:

    • Starting salary is $50,000/year.
    • This is a salaried position which will become eligible for health insurance after a probationary period.
    • Higher starting salary possible with extensive Cirrus teaching experience.
    • Annual raises based upon performance.
    • Possibility for bonuses.
