Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Additionally, Flight Navigator performs a variety of complicated tasks. May direct and lead the work of others. The Patient Navigator provides supportive advocacy to patients and their families as part of the interdisciplinary healthcare teams efforts to safely promote progression-of-care. Works directly with various members of the healthcare team and physicians to address concerns or special needs that may arise through the course of treatment. The Patient Navigator acts as an intermediary between hospital departments and the patient/family to bring about the most effective healthcare treatment and positive hospital experience. Assists with development of a plan that supports the patient during their time in the organization.
