    Swamp Rabbit Cafe and Grocery is a showcase for local farmers and food artisans. Our Hiring and Training Coordinator is responsible for attracting, hiring, onboarding and training high quality employees who care deeply for the SRCG mission. The Hiring and Training Coordinator is accountable for the hiring lifecycle and initial new hire training while ensuring current employees are given the right tools and knowledge to do their job well.

    ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

    • Manages application lifecycle in applicant tracking system and communicates candidate status with hiring managers
    • Conducts phone interviews with all potential candidates
    • Utilizes screening tools such as reference checks and background checks during the hiring process
    • Onboards all new hires; completes all required paperwork, schedules and hosts onboarding training
    • Maintains all hiring and onboarding documentation; ensures legal compliance regarding document retention and I-9 compliance
    • Works with HR Manager and Marketing team to build robust recruiting systems and campaigns
    • Tracks the training lifecycle of all new hires, maintains training records and creates plan for remedial training when necessary
    • Attends 30 day performance review of new hires to ensure comfortability in performing essential job functions and to provide feedback/plan

    for continued training if needed

    • Tracks and schedules annual training renewals such as SNAP and ServSafe
    • Engages with department and store leadership to learn, understand, and document all training processes in efforts to build and improve upon

    current practices

    • Researches and implements training systems to streamline, document, offer immediate feedback and track proficiency of trainees
    • Designs and develops templates, curriculum, agendas, learning tools, and training materials for all department specific trainings
    • Utilizes a myriad of training tools, methods and resources such as manuals, videos, CBT’s, seminars and on-the-job coaching
    • Trains our Trainers: teaches all current and new trainers the techniques and skills necessary to effectively perform staff trainings; shadows new “trainers” and provides actionable feedback and accountability
    • Regularly evaluates training effectiveness and uptake through post-training assessments
    • Ensures all training materials are cohesive in messaging regarding our Mission, Values and SOPs
    • Is a development resource for all employees; tracks employees who express interest in growing and creates actionable goals to promote their

    development

    • Conducts and/or arranges for ongoing training and professional development classes
    • Hosts and delivers regular training seminars on various topics to both new and veteran employees
    • Continuously audits and creates systems for updating all existing training materials to best reflect current processes
    • Is in constant communication with department management regarding new hire training to ensure trainee proficiency
    • Proactively identifies further training and development opportunities
    • Hosts a monthly safety presentation, regularly safety audits, and specific safety trainings as needed
    • Adheres to training budget
    • Engages in cross-functional projects and performs other HR related duties as assigned
    • Assists fellow employees as needed

    JOB REQUIREMENTS

    • Must be 21 years of age or older
    • 2-3 years of professional training and development or HR experience required
    • Current knowledge of Human Resources practices and procedures and employment law strongly desired
    • Demonstrated knowledge of end-to-end recruitment lifecycle processes preferred
    • Proficiency in training strategies and principles including adult learning theory, teaching and instructing for groups and individuals, and

    evaluating training effectiveness is a plus

    • Must be able to produce high quality work with minimal supervision
    • Is an active part of the Swamp Team so adheres to high standards of service, quality, and presentation and displays the Swamp Core Values
    • Must have a good working knowledge of Google Suite (Drive, Sheets, Docs) and Microsoft Excel and be willing to learn and use the Entrepreneurial Operating System
    • Must have a valid driver’s license and meet the requirements of the Swamp driving policy
    • Must communicate through company designated platforms including, but not limited to Slack, Paylocity, and email.
    • Is an active part of the Swamp Team so adheres to high standards of service, quality, and presentation
    • Take initiative to help any area of the business if possible

    ESSENTIAL SAFETY SKILLS - WORK ENVIRONMENT

    SRCG requires that PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) such as safety shoes, gloves, etc. be used or worn by employees whenever workplace hazards are discovered that could damage any part of the body to eliminate and/or reduce the hazards employees face in their daily job duties. PPE will not be used as a substitute for safe work practices, machine guards, or other controls. PPE is to be used in conjunction with these controls to increase employee protection.
