This key position plays a vital role in the financial stewardship of our restaurant and food and beverage entities, ensuring the accurate and timely delivery of financial reporting. The ideal candidate will bring a blend of professionalism, precision, and a deep understanding of restaurant accounting and adherence to best practices in the industry.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and distribute monthly financial statements for ownership.
- Detail review and analysis of financial statements.
- Supervise staff in managing daily cash operations and account reconciliations for all bank accounts.
- Preparation of monthly closing workbook.
- Maintain, review and post daily, recurring and accrual journal entries.
- Collaborate closely with accounts payable and receivable teams to ensure transactions are accurately and recorded timely.
- Conduct detailed account/margin analyses and produce budget-to-actual variance reports to support financial decision-making.
- Analyze and maintain the general ledger to ensure the accuracy of coding and cost allocations.
- Contribute to the annual budgeting process and assist with financial audits, tax preparations, and internal/external inquiries.
- Drive continuous improvement of accounting policies and procedures while leveraging your expertise to optimize financial operations.
- Aid the operations teams and develop its members to ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge to support the organization’s financial functions effectively.
- Identify and implement cost-saving and efficiency improvement measures across the organization. This includes reporting and analyzing specific, measurable metrics that align with the financial and operational goals of the business.
- Oversee the financial IT systems to ensure they meet the company's reporting, forecasting, and analytical needs. This may involve leading initiatives to upgrade financial systems or leverage technology for better financial data analysis.
- Undertake additional duties embracing the dynamic needs of the accounting department and Turnberry Associates.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting with CPA Certification preferable.
- A minimum of 3 years of accounting experience, ideally within the restaurant/F&B sector.
- Proficiency in Yardi accounting software a plus and a thorough understanding of US GAAP.
- Exceptional analytical skills for interpreting financial data and assisting ownership in making informed decisions.
- Strong organizational and time management abilities with a proven track record of working independently and taking initiative.
Requirements:
- Demonstrate expertise in financial reporting and proficiency with integrated accounting and spreadsheet software.
- Detail-oriented approach, emphasizing accuracy in all financial documentation.
- Excellent communication skills, capable of coordinating with various departments and levels within the organization.
- Strategic thinker with leadership qualities, adept at managing relationships, coordinating teams, and meeting deadlines under pressure.
