Food & Beverage Director directs and oversees all aspects of the organization's food and beverage planning and service, with duties to include menu planning and costs, preparation and presentation of food and drinks, and adherence to quality and safety standards. Plans, coordinates, and oversees special events. Being a Food & Beverage Director may identify marketing opportunities to promote food and beverage products. May require a bachelor's degree. Additionally, Food & Beverage Director typically reports to top management. The Food & Beverage Director typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity.     Responsible for outlet operations, management and ensuring guests’ experience exceptional services and products. 

    Responsibilities

    • Provides exceptional guest service while leading a highly motivated and guest service-focused team.
    • Oversees Grains and Grounds operations. Supports all other Food & Beverage operations of the Casino Resort as needed.
    • Maintains Starbucks branding and protocol for outlet operations, and orders applicable inventory as needed.
    • May manage or provide support for special events and banquets (on and off property as needed).
    • Conducts or ensures pre-shift meetings with staff are held daily.
    • Interfaces with culinary team to review production lists needed for operations.
    • Reviews product mixes and pars with other F&B management.
    • Tracks, maintains, and orders inventory.
    • Supervises and schedules all Grains and Grounds staff.
    • Leads by example, creating an environment that sets a benchmark in the areas of innovation and motivation.
    • Ensures that all standards of service are consistent in quality and excellence.
    • Reviews and maintains the ambiance of the outlet.
    • Ensures customer satisfaction and addresses guests’ issues and complaints.
    • Monitors service and interface with service and culinary teams to ensure outstanding guest service; particular focus to be paid on freshness of food.
    • Responsible for compliance with cash control procedures and completing related accounting, end of shift, and administrative reports as required.
    • Accountable for enforcing all schedules and handling of money.
    • Participates in the on-going training of F&B Team Members.
    • Participates in the training of front of the house team, including, but not limited to, service procedures, expectations and leading by example.
    • Responsible for all aspects of Team Member management including hiring, scheduling, training, coaching, evaluating performance, disciplining, and terminating, as well as timekeeping and payroll; communicates with appropriate management regarding performance and other Team Member issues.
    • Ensures staff complies with dress code and appearance policies.
    • May serve guests food and drinks, cashier, answer phones, stock, and maintain outlet cleanliness during peak times or as needed.
    • Performs other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Food Service Management, Hospitality, Marketing or related field, or three years of experience in high-volume restaurant management.
    • Must be knowledgeable in all areas of dining service.
    • Experience in front of the house management.
    • Ability to effectively lead a team and provide direction.
    • Strong customer service skills.
    • Experience in conducting service-training programs for front of the house staff.
    • Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office applications.
    • Proficient in POS systems.
    • Able to work effectively with other management staff and members.
    • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
    • Excellent organizational skills.
    • Must obtain a food handler card within 30 days of employment.
    • Must apply for, receive, and maintain a Gaming License from the Tribal Gaming Agency.
    • Native American hiring preference applies.
