Outreach Services Associate

Job Summary:

Food 4 Souls is a Faith Based, Non-Profit Homeless Organization with a mission to go out and serve the homeless community with unconditional love and acceptance by providing hope in Christ, meeting daily needs, and aligning resources. Founded 10 years ago on the premise that every person deserves the right to be treated with dignity and worth.

Overview:
This position is on the frontlines of our mobile outreach operations and seeks to fulfill our mission to provide hope and connection to our friends experiencing homelessness. The Outreach Associate exists to help foster a supportive and encouraging environment for weekly outreaches. The Outreach Associate works on a team of highly motivated, creative, and flexible individuals to set up outreach events, coordinate and collaborate with onsite volunteers, and maintain vehicles readiness for outreach. This position reports directly to the Life Care/Outreach Coordinator. The Outreach Associate is self-motivated, passionate about helping others, flexible and task oriented.

This role is a part-time position working a minimum of 20 hours a week including a minimum of one (1) Sunday per month (maximum 2, as needed).

Responsibilities:

• Lead/Assist Outreach Leads with set up/tear down at Outreach Service sites. Includes bus outreach and mobile shower outreach. Coordinate and assign volunteer roles at Outreach site.
• Organize, update inventory of supplies in organization storage unit.
• Coordinate delivery of donations.
• Report to Director of Operation and/or Life Care/Outreach Coordinator supply needs for next outreach.
• Restock supplies in bus and mobile shower trailer prior to outreach service day.
• Cultivate relationships with individuals experiencing homelessness.
• Assist clients in connecting with Service Providers during Outreach days.
• Attend monthly/quarterly staff meetings.
• Communicate client needs to Life Care/Outreach Coordinator.
• Other duties as assigned.​

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in mission work and/or outreach experience (church, faith-based nonprofit, volunteer, or other)
• Excellent leadership, communication, detail to organization and time management skills
• A disciple of Jesus
• Alignment with the core values and mission of Food 4 Souls with commitment to integrity in representing Food 4 Souls’ mission in the community.
• Reliable transportation
• Valid Driver’s License (CDL with air brakes preferred but not required)
• Competent with technology
• Ability to lift/carry up to 50lbs.
• Flexibility in schedule

Compensation:

• This position is paid at an hourly rate ($16 - $20, commensurate with experience)
• Organization cell phone provided
