  • The Food Service Manager is responsible for ensuring smooth and efficient operation of the school food service program at assigned location in accordance with the regulations of the USDA and National School Lunch Program. Candidates must submit drug screen and background check.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    To be successful as a Food Service Manager you must be able to perform each essential duty and take responsibility for maintaining regular daily operations of the cafeteria.

    • Consults and reports to the Area Supervisor and Executive Director related to School Food and Nutrition Services.
    • Follows all policies and procedures of School Food and Nutrition Services in administering National School Lunch/Breakfast programs. Ensures all meals are served in compliance with nutritional requirements.
    • Prepares and communicates production, work and cleaning schedules. Provides written and verbal instructions daily to all staff. Along with training, supervising and managing staff in accordance with School Food and Nutrition procedures.
    • Orients new staff members into the cafeteria, trains and reviews procedures.
    • Maintains high standards of health, sanitation and safety within the kitchen.
    • Monitors maintenance and service of all large and small equipment.
    • Monitors all temperature logs on a daily basis to ensure food safety.
    • Orders and receives food and supply deliveries. Ensures all deliveries are of acceptable quality and quantity.
    • Holds staff accountable by following and enforcing Human Resource policies and documenting staff as needed.
    • Attends meetings and workshops to provide effective leadership skills.
    • Successfully completes Manager-In-Training Program.
    • Performs other duties as required.

    Education and Experience

    • High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
    • Must either have (1) a minimum of one year of successful food service experience, (2) an Associate's or Bachelor's Degree, or (3) have demonstrated potential to succeed as a Food Service Manager.

    Job Type: Full-time

    Pay: $24,000.00 - $45,000.00 per year
