  • POSITION SUMMARY:

    Under the supervision of the Director of Operations and consistent with the mission of the YMCA of McCook, the MOD will act as the supervisor for departments in the absence of any other higher-ranking Director or Coordinator. The MOD is responsible for engaging members and staff using the Y’s service and engagement principles as well as being responsible for the overall supervision of the YMCA building and grounds. This individual must be able to supervise staff and volunteers and make sure that everyone follows safety standards and policies of the YMCA of McCook.


    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

      *Provides excellent service to members, guests, and program participants contributing to high member satisfaction and retention. * Assists in prospective member tours and interviews; supports membership sales. *In the absence of other higher-ranking Director, provides building and department oversight. *Assists with emergency situations and handles and resolves concerns/complaints with the goal of ensuring a positive experience in accordance with all applicable YMCA policies; informs supervisor of unusual situations or unresolved issues. *Assists in building maintenance; monitors locker rooms and re-stocks/provides pickup as needed, performs light cleaning, and assures set-up and take down for scheduled, seasonal activities. *Supports membership team by assisting with front desk operations when needed. *Develops awareness and an atmosphere of support for the YMCA and its programs within the community. *Builds relationships, helps members connect with the YMCA community and highlights the value and importance of Y membership. *Demonstrates and communicates the YMCA Mission, purpose, goals, policies and standards to staff, volunteers, members, guests, and program participants. *Performs other duties as assigned by department when needed.


    REQUIREMENTS:

      *Minimum of 18 years of age with at least 2-years of related work experience. *Completion of high school diploma or equivalent education. *Ability to obtain and maintain completion of: Child Abuse Prevention for Supervisory Staff; CPR; First Aid; AED; and Blood borne Pathogens. *Demonstrate ability to provide customer service and handle staff and member issues. *Flexibility and ability to work independently while cooperating with other staff, participants and volunteers. *Must be able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and adapt to changing contexts and priorities. *Must be extremely organized, accurate, reliable, and diligent in meeting deadlines. *Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community. *The primary work schedule is evenings with possible weekends.

    Available shifts and compensation: We have available shifts all days of the week. Compensation is $12.00 - $13.00/hour.
