    Education
    • Minimum High School diploma or equivalent
    • Able to attend in house training, seminars, and web based training

    • Able to pass a Serv Safe/Food Safety Training course if required for the location
    • Required: 3 months of Food Bag sales associate experience and sales associate certification completed


    Physical
    • Able to lift 50lbs
    • Able to stand up to 8 hours
    • Able to bend and pull up a metal plate weighing 20 lbs
    • Clarity of vision near/ far distances and acceptable level of hearing
    • Able to use a pole to change gas prices/stick to stick gas tanks
    • Able to work in a cooler at a temperature of 39 degrees for 30 minutes
    • Able to climb a ladder to do windows, reach equipment, reach store supplies etc.
    • Able to stock shelves on the sales floor and in the cooler
    • Able to sweep, mop floors, dust shelves, lift and carry out trash and place trash in outside bins
    • Able to tolerate exposure to gasoline fumes and cleaning products
    Travel
    • Maintain a valid drivers license & acceptable driving record
    • Drive an insured motor vehicle
    • Able to attend mandatory seminars
    Key Duties and Responsibilities
    • Takes responsibility and ownership for all store operations
    • Sets a positive example by creating a workplace that is friendly and inviting to employees, customers, vendors and other visitors while building a successful team
    • Takes a proactive approach to recruiting new employees and uses proper interview techniques leading to hiring the best candidate
    • Trains, mentors, and develops employees so the location meets company and store goals of Customer Service Excellence, net sales, cash and cigarette losses, payroll and profitability
    • Evaluates and disciplines employees to help them grow and develop; giving the employee straight forward feedback regarding their strengths and weaknesses
    • Recognizes and retrains employees when they demonstrate lack of understanding of a task
    • Maintains skills in operating all Point of Sales terminals, (register/lottery/pre-solutions, etc)
    • Makes sure store is open all scheduled business hours
    • Stays current on and ensures all staff follow all state, federal, local laws and company policies
    • Completes all necessary or requested paperwork timely and accurately including daily and weekly paperwork, employee packets, sales associate certifications, employee performance reviews, incident reports, etc.
    • Keeps all required manuals such as OSHA, Training Manuals, Weekly Fuel Inventory Binder, UST manual etc. updated with new information
    • Analyzes product mix using available reports; maximizing sales through proper merchandising while controlling inventory.
    • Checks in vendors per company policy and notifies timely the DM when there are vendor problems
    • Completes gas and grocery price changes as required and ensures that fuel price signs and grocery price signs are changed timely
    • Handles employee and customer complaints appropriately; seeks guidance when unsure of best solution and reports to office where needed.
    • Maintains a safe store environment for employees, customers, vendors and visitors by training and enforcing safe work habits, completing safety walks of store lots and reporting safety issues, reporting equipment malfunctions, and assuring that safety equipment provided (ladders, vests, cones) are being used.
    • Practices and enforces safe cash handling habits; drawer levels, drops, coin bank locked, bank deposit counting and dropping off
    • Follows food safety precautions and regulations training all food handlers on proper safety and enforcing safe food practices; keeps a log of food service items and temperature checks
    • Prepares work schedule within budgeted hours and posts no later than Monday of each week (exception New York – posted by Wednesday)
    • Executes and monitors loss prevention and inventory shrink watching the DVR’s daily
