POSITION SUMMARY

Southeastern Food Merchandisers is looking to hire a Transportation Supervisor. You will supervise our drivers on committed route schedules that allow them to be home daily; there is no over-the-road work. Drivers depart and return to the same terminal daily. Our fleet is 100% leased and maintained by Penske, and all units are equipped with automatic transmissions.

Position Responsibilities may include, but not limited to:

• Dispatch drivers and communicate any special delivery instructions.
• Update equipment activity and yard control system
• Process, monitor, and audit driver control information and DOT hours of service.
• Handle all processing and reporting of yard safety or over-the-road incidents.
• Responsible for DOT testing as needed.
• Monitor and meet all order accuracy requirements.
• Conduct meetings with associates.
• Assist in the training and development of department associates.
• Communicate daily with fellow supervisors and managers on daily operational activities.
• Manage and promote safety and sanitation in all areas.
• Proficient with dispatch software, ELD Devices, POD systems

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• One year of Class A CDL experience and a clean MVR are preferred.
• High School Diploma or GED.
• Two or more years of supervisory experience or actual driver supervision and/or dispatching.
• Two or more years working with DOT drivers’ hours of service regulations.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills.
• Knowledge of all Microsoft Office business applications.
• Knowledge of Department of Transportation (DOT), Department of Motor Vehicle (DMV), and Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) rules and regulations.
• Ability to work flexible shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
