  • Job Summary:

    Orders commodities requiring a high degree of technical expertise and an awareness of total cost and quality concepts in relation to purchased parts or services, committing Company funds.

    Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Leads the Buyer/Planner code review for SIDI Parts.
    • Maintains Open Order Reviews on a Weekly Basis with Suppliers.
    • Maintains Critical Parts list for production
    • Maintains PO Date Maintenance and alignment with suppliers to help schedule/forecast production.
    • Assist with Cost Reduction Projects with the Strategic team.
    • Managers the Cycle Counting Program for SIDI.
    • Issues POs to Suppliers/Tracking PO Acknowledgment from Suppliers.
    • Reconciliation of any A/P issues tied to your suppliers purchase orders.
    • Tracking/Monitoring Part Status via International In-Transit Reports – Domestic LTL/FTL PRO #’s/UPS/FEDEX/DHL.
    • Maintains Branch/Master Data for SIDI Parts such as MOQs, Lead times, Safety Stock, and Pricing.
    • Executes final negotiation of major accounts requiring particular finesses and negotiating experience, committing company funds; works independently with minimal supervision, exercising discretion, judgment, and professionalism in all tasks. Must be cognizant of, and perform within, constraints of various company policies and procedures, laws pertaining to purchasing (i.e., Uniform Commercial Code, Statute of Frauds, etc.), and standards of ethics (i.e., company ethics policy, National Association of Purchasing Management standards, etc.).
    • Must be able to handle major projects independently.
    • Represents the Company in third party transactions, thereby committing Company funds. Works independently with minimal supervision, exercising discretion and judgement in all tasks. Must be cognizant of and perform within constraints of various Company policies and procedures, laws purchasing (i.e., Uniform Commercial Code, Statute of Frauds, etc.), and Standards of Ethics (i.e, National Association of Purchasing Management)
    • Works with supplier base to ensure compliance to required international standards (i.e., ISO 9000, TS 16949 etc.) Facilitate operating cost reductions and develop/implement other programs to support company objectives.
    • Requires heavy contact with vendors and suppliers.
    • Close coordination with various departments and Department Managers and Supervisors as required.
    • Understands Supplier Market situation and forecasts the impact to the supply chain.
    • Ensures prompt conflict resolution between vendors and the Company.
    • May be required to perform miscellaneous related duties and special projects as assigned by management.

    Qualifications:

    • Experience with PC Applications, Microsoft Office 365 applications.
    • JDE knowledge a plus.
    • Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
    • Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
    • Strong managerial and supervisory skills.

    Education & Experience:

    • Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in Business Administration.
    • Must have technical background through seminars or experience in Automotive industry.
    • Working knowledge of Government contractual obligations for subcontractors.
    • Specialized training in Contract Law, Purchasing and the Law, and Purchasing Ethics.
    • Minimum of five years purchasing experience as an industrial Buyer, or seven years acceptable equivalent experience in manufacturing-related discipline(s).

    Travel Requirements: None

    Physical Requirements: Essential physical requirements, such as climbing stairs, standing, stooping, or typing. Physical effort/lifting, such as sedentary - up to 10 pounds; light - up to 20 pounds.

    Working Conditions: Flexibility to work nights and weekends.
