Essential Functions

1. Performs routine and unskilled manual labor tasks in the maintenance of the site grounds:

• Mows Grass
• Clears areas of weeds and brush
• Plants vegetation
• Maintains tools and equipment
• Cleans culverts
• Patches roads
• Assists in repair of pheasant brooder buildings and flight/holding pens
• Digs postholes and repairs fences

2. Performs routine and unskilled manual labor tasks in the maintenance of site buildings to include:

• Cleans and disinfects restrooms
• Cleans and disinfects pheasant buildings
• Sweeps and mops, wax and polish floors
• Washes windows
• Paints signs
• Maintains picnic tables
• Collects trash within the park

3. Assists in the captive-rearing of pheasants:

• Observes captive-reared game birds for signs of stress or disease
• Assists in administering medication
• Feeds and waters birds
• Catches and crates birds for delivery to controlled hunt areas
• Cleans bird pens
• Loads/unloads trucks

4. Assists in performing routine maintenance to equipment and vehicles:

• Changes oil
• Checks and fills fluids
• Changes filters, spark plugs, and belts
• Washes vehicles

5. Registers hunters:

• Operates check stations
• In emergency situations, contacts supervisor or notifies appropriate authorities
• Informs visitors of rules and regulations
• Directs traffic
• Inspects public use areas for hazards and reports findings to supervisor
• Watches for prowlers, fires, and other causes which might endanger or result in loss or damage to property

6. Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.

Minimum Qualification

Requires knowledge, skill, and development equivalent to the completion of eight years of elementary school.
