Foundation Director directs the execution of the vision, strategic planning, financial management, fundraising, and grantmaking operations that support the overall objectives of a foundation. Defines the goals and tactics for fundraising campaigns and program initiatives. Being a Foundation Director represents the foundation to the public and media to communicate its mission, values, and accomplishments. Maintains positive relationships with foundation stakeholders, including the board of directors, grantees, community leaders, donors, and prospective donors. Additionally, Foundation Director oversees grantmaking operations, including developing grant guidelines, reviewing grant applications, and managing the grant evaluation process. Manages foundation programs and initiatives that align with the foundation's mission and values. Implements systems for monitoring and evaluating the effectiveness of the foundation's grantmaking and programs. Ensures all foundation activities comply with applicable laws, reporting requirements, and regulations. Typically requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to senior management. The Foundation Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. To be a Foundation Director typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function.     Essential Functions & Responsibilities:

    • Oversee project schedules, crews, and materials to complete those projects, keeping records up to date.
    • Meet construction budget by monitoring project expenditures, identify variances and implement corrective actions.
    • Calculate resources required, schedule and coordinate staff and sub-contractors, resolve design problems, issue purchase orders, and evaluate and implement change orders.
    • Supervise and coordinate activities of work crews engaged in various stages of concrete construction. 
    • Conduct weekly safety meetings. 
    • Assess roadways for traffic control. Instruct, oversee, and assist in implementing all aspects of traffic control plans including lane closures, flagging operations, traffic shifts, etc.
    • Oversee and manage workers placing forms for concrete sidewalks, handicap ramps, curb and gutter, etc.
    • Inspect forms or adjustments prior to placing concrete.
    • Responsible for reading plans or required specifications that may be applicable to jobs and convey those specifications to crew leaders and crew members.
    • Inspect concrete for finish, appearance, quality of work, and ensure the finished product meets all project specifications.
    • At times, supervisors are required to be hands-on and help crew members place and finish concrete, implement traffic control, drive trucks, run equipment, etc.
    • Responsible for monitoring employee hours, employee receipts, assessing and assigning all job-related receipts, filling out daily reports, recording daily quantities, etc.
    • Responsible for scheduling and managing concrete orders. Concrete scheduled must meet contract specifications and be an approved mix for that specific job.
    • Directs the delivery and placement of stone, asphalt, and other materials required on most jobs.
    • Understand and ensure that contractual requirements, including local, state and federal regulations, are followed.
    • Establish and maintain high staff morale, model sound leadership and teamwork.
    • Troubleshoot and identify problems, offer timely and safe solutions
    • Train and groom employees to cross-train and advance their skill set so they can grow with company.
    • Evaluate employee’s skill level and assist in determining each employee’s pay.
    • Organize or reorganize crews.
    • Monitor company vehicles associated with assigned crews, including driver safety, vehicle condition, and scheduling maintenance with shop mechanic.

    Minimum Qualifications:

    • Must be 18 years of age or older.
    • Proficiency with radius flat work.
    • Must be able to work independently and lead a small crew for form, place, and finish work.
    • Able to read and understand blueprints. 
    • Familiarity and skills operating the following, preferred: excavator, track loader (skid steer), telescopic lifts (Lull), man lifts, roller compactors, & trowel machines.
    • Must work well with others, and possess leadership skills to maximize production of crew. 

    Education & Experience

    • High School diploma or GED equivalent preferred.
    • 3 years’ experience in a field leadership role performing concrete construction is required.

    Pre-Screen

    • Upon offer, employees may be required to complete and pass a pre-employment drug screen, background, and/or MVR check.

    License & Certifications:

    • Valid Driver License Required.

    Physical Requirements:

    • RARE (less than 10%): crawling, climbing poles, gripping, pushing, pulling, climbing ladders, climbing stairs.
    • OCCASIONAL (up to 33%): climbing on/off the truck, lifting, carrying, lifting over 50 lbs.
    • FREQUENT (up to 66%): sitting, stooping, kneeling, squatting, sense of touch, manual dexterity, lifting, carrying, lifting up to 10 lbs., lifting over 10 lbs. to 50 lbs.
    • CONTINUOUS (up to 100%): standing, walking, body-twisting, speaking clearly, seeing distant, seeing, reading, reaching, range-of-motion, hearing-speech range, depth perception.

    Safety

    Due to the inherently dangerous nature of the industry and requirements to work with or around hazardous equipment, employees must have sufficient eyesight to judge distance/coordination of equipment and tools, be able to maintain attention and concentration for extended periods, be able to withstand exposure to all kinds of weather while completing work assignments, be able to wear personal protective equipment as necessary, be able to enter and exit a vehicle numerous times a day, have the endurance necessary to traverse various terrain, be capable of performing job duties throughout a standard 8- or 10-hour day, be able to communicate with others, read, write, and comprehend written/verbal job instructions and information, and communicate and handle conflict professionally.

    • Exhibits and carries out cognitive problem-solving skills.
    • Able to read, comprehend, and visualize job build and all prints.
    • Works near/around energized, hazardous parts and equipment.
    • Exposed to traffic.
    • Works around excessive noise from machines (bore drill, backhoe, trencher, mini excavator, bucket trucks, digger derricks, concrete saw, jackhammers).
    • May exposed to hot and cold environments, poisonous plants or reptiles, and stinging insects.
