Fraud Prevention Manager manages a team of analysts responsible for the detection, prevention, and mitigation of fraudulent transactions.     • Serve as the Prevention Lead, advising the Senior Commander or Commanding General on community based and organizational primary prevention activities with Division level environment or equivalent based on complexity of military environment.
    • Responsible for overseeing subordinate integrated primary prevention staff and overall responsibility for successful primary prevention activities.
    • Understand the problem by collecting and analyzing data on risk and protective factors at the assigned organization.
    • Ensure quality implementation. Supports the adaptation of prevention activities according to local risk and protective factors or other nuances specific to the operational environment and culture while maintaining fidelity of the activity.
    • Identify rigorously evaluated prevention activities from multiple disciplines and organizations.
    • Supervises a multi-disciplinary team of integrated primary prevention staff members.

    Requirements

    Conditions of Employment

    • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
    • Incumbent must be able to obtain and maintain security clearance.
    • Within six months of employment, must complete DoD SPARX Knowledge Part 1 and 2, training specific to prevention activities being delivered, and complete all requirements to obtain the DoD Prevention Badge.
    • Per DoDI 6400.11, this position must acquire and maintain a Level 5 of the DoD Credentialing Program for Prevention Personnel (D-CPPP) in compliance with OSD guidance.
    • This position may require temporary duty (TDY) business travel up to 15% of the time.

    Basic Requirement for Supervisory Prevention Specialist (Prevention Lead) (Prev WF):

    A. Degree: Bachelor's degree (or higher degree) in behavioral or social science, or related disciplines appropriate to the position, such as counseling, social work, psychology, or criminal justice etc.

    OR

    B. Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience that provided the applicant with knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field.

    OR

    C. Experience: Four years of appropriate experience that demonstrated that the applicant has acquired knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field.

    In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below:

    Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes providing advice on community based and organizational prevention activities for assigned location/organization; supporting development of the local prevention system (i.e., human resources, collaborative relationships, and infrastructure); and executing all steps in the Prevention Process. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12).

    Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone-no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
