Position Summary Job Duties/Essential Functions Experience, Skills, Education & Licenses/Certifications Protects company assets from internal and external theft. Observes and reports potential safety and security hazards. Investigates, detains suspects, completes reports, cooperates with local law enforcement, and testifies in court if necessary. Reports directly to Warehouse Manager and or Regional Loss Prevention Manager. Essential Functions: •Walks the warehouse and perimeter up to 8 hours a day to monitor safety and security concerns. •Follows and maintains knowledge of Costco procedures and applicable laws in performance of duties. •Attends meetings and seminars regarding loss prevention. Observes, detects, and investigates internal and external theft threats. •Reports potential internal theft situations to warehouse manager. •Detains and interviews shoplifters when warranted. •Prepares reports for internal use and for potential prosecution. •Maintains evidence collected and report files from investigations. •Testifies in court concerning theft investigations. •Communicates with other area Costco Loss Prevention Clerks and Security people of area businesses to exchange information about current, local theft threats. •Ensures proper cleanup and disposal of hazardous materials. Ability to operate vehicles, equipment or machinery •Personal vehicle, computer, printer, card printer, phone, copier, fax, credit/debit terminal. Non-Essential Functions: •Assists in other departments of the warehouse where no visual member contact exists. Ability to operate vehicles, equipment or machinery •Phone, Computer, Hand truck, pallet jack. Required: •Hazard Communication and JHA (initial assignment), Costco Hazardous Materials DOT Training Course: Part 1 (within 30 days and then every year), Hazmat Universal Waste Training- Short Version (within 30 days and then every year), Option STOP Training (within 30 days), HIPAA Training (within 30 days). •Must be current on annual safety training within 30 days of hire. •Communication, observation, problem-solving skills required. •Licenses/certifications as required by state law. •Valid Driver's License required.
