Position Summary:
The Lead Front Desk Clerk is a key member of the Guest Services team responsible for leading the Guest Service Team, under the direction of the Front Desk Supervisor and General Manager. He/she is in charge of check-in/out and does the cash management and Third parties reservations and commission at the Front Office. Assist in staff training and accountability. Assist/cover all shifts including Night Audit. The Front Desk Supervisor is also a direct contact person for guests. He/she has to answer their requests or refer the guests To Whom It May Concern. In some cases he/she assumes some of the Concierge´s duties and responsibilities. Assist/cover shift with/for the Breakfast Attendant. They are responsible for preparing and serving daily breakfast bar, greeting each guest and ensuring the guests’ are comfortable and overall satisfied.
The Guest Services Team is typically the guest’s first interaction with Shutters on the Banks Hotel, so we need to make certain it is consistently a positive experience. Each guest that walks in Shutters will be welcomed and acknowledged with the Shutters culture of positive customer service. You are responsible for ensuring we provide the highest level of guest service and that our standards are met and maintained at all times. A Front Office Supervisor must have a positive and professional, upbeat personality with a desire to deliver outstanding customer service to our guests.
Requirements:
Ø Experience in Guest Services, with a strong knowledge of The Outer Banks and surrounding areas.
Ø Experience in Night Audit with an accounting background is an asset.
Ø Exceptional interpersonal skills to enhance the service standards throughout the operation.
Ø Excellent communication, guest service and time management skills.
Ø Detail oriented.
Ø Able to organize, plan ahead, multitask and manage workload.
Ø A team player and a self-started, yet able to work independently with Shutter’s standards. Must be able to work an overnight shift and have weekend availability.
Ø Ability to work effectively in an innovative, fast-paced environment.
Ø Knowledge of the hotel industry.
Ø Excellent computer skills, specifically Microsoft Office and use of the internet.
Ø High School graduate or equivalent required. Must speak, read, write and understand the primary language used in the workplace. College or University degree preferred in Hospitality/Customer Service or a minimum of 2 years of experience in a guest services role.
