  • Position Information: Title: Manager - Gas Operations Location: Greenwich, CT Pay Rate: $111,000 - $139,000 Schedule: Hybrid Position Summary The Manager of Gas Operations is responsible for ensuring the safe operation and maintenance of the natural gas distribution system within the Connecticut Natural Gas Co. Greenwich service area. The position is accountable for the promotion and implementation of company initiatives and policies. The manager will be expected to lead their team to meet all safety, customer service, efficiency, emergency response & system reliability goals. The manager will have direct oversight of supervisors responsible for distribution system, Pressure regulation and Meter service personnel and field activities. This position is office based in Greenwich, CT. MAJOR ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Directs the coordination and general oversight of supervisors and field personnel within service territory. Oversees emergency operations within the company’s territory. Execute all work tasks in compliance with Company, Federal and State policies and regulatory requirements. Responsible for maintaining maintenance budget. Develop and maintain ongoing programs to increase operating efficiencies, promote safety, identify best practices, and reduce operating maintenance and capital construction costs. Represents the Company before governmental, regulatory bodies, and other public forums, as required. Develop and recommend long/short-range objectives and programs, to attain customer service targets. Assures that an effective working relationship with bargaining units continues. Provide area leadership to encourage interdepartmental communication and cooperation in support of all company objectives. Develop a strong supervisory team and promote individual growth among employees. This position will work closely with Engineering, pressure regulation, system Analysis, Gas control, Meter Services and capital construction. Perform other duties and special projects as assigned Education & Experience Required: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction management, or related degree. Master’s degree is preferred. In lieu of a degree, at least 12 years of experience in gas operations, engineering, or closely related experience. Thorough Knowledge of gas system maintenance, construction, and engineering disciplines, including knowledge of Federal, and state regulations. 5 years of team leadership experience, driving team performance, engagement, and accountability. Skills/Abilities: Knowledge of DOT and PURA regulations Able to coordinate, focus, and direct employees in analyzing complex problems and implementing courses of action. High-level analytical, organizational, interpersonal, communications, and leadership skills.
