General Maintenance Supervisor supervises and coordinates the general maintenance of buildings, equipment, and/or machinery. Oversees staff that performs masonry, painting, electrical, carpentry, tool-making, and/or machine shop work. Being a General Maintenance Supervisor estimates hours needed to complete tasks, prepares work schedules, assigns work, and inspects completed projects to ensure work meets quality standards. Requires a high school diploma. Additionally, General Maintenance Supervisor may require certain certifications in the field. Typically reports to a manager. The General Maintenance Supervisor supervises a small group of para-professional staff in an organization characterized by highly transactional or repetitive processes. Contributes to the development of processes and procedures. To be a General Maintenance Supervisor typically requires 3 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. Job Duties:
As you might expect, cleaning is at the heart of what your job will entail. For the most part, you’ll be:
Monitor facility safety of personnel
Measure, label, and use chemicals following proper procedures and adhering to safety protocol
Vacuum, sweep, mop floors
Floorwork (buffers, waxers, carpet cleaners)
Empty Trash
High and low dusting
Clean and service restrooms, breakrooms, and conference and kitchen areas
Train assigned personnel on cleaning methods, procedures, and equipment
Provide work direction to personnel under the guidance of, and directed by, the manager
Perform routine inspections of work performed by cleaning personnel
Serve as backup for absent personnel
Driving to each building to help (buildings are separated in a 3-5 miles radius)
Environment:
This location is a Mineral plant that consists of several buildings. A company vehicle will be provided for travel in between. It is a very dusty environment due to the minerals and located in the Mohave (desert weather).
Hourly Rate:
$25 $259.92 vehicle/milage stipend
Schedule:
Monday - Fridays with schedule adjusting for some Saturdays
