Summary:
This position is for a full time, 40 hours per week, all-around maintenance person to work as a member of the Building Services team for the Pastoral Center at 40 North Main Avenue. This position must be able to perform maintenance and repairs at various properties, with a high level of independence and minimal supervision. This person will perform a broad range of activities including but not limited to the following:
Tasks Include:
· Analyze and repair problems in the field, including those associated with plumbing, electrical, carpentry, mechanical, painting, commercial hardware applications (keying and locksets) and HVAC Systems;
· Snow plowing, landscaping maintenance, lawn care, and related work;
· Repair and replace parts for motors and preventative maintenance on equipment;
· Ability to assist Building Manager in filling in for other staff;
· On-Call: Ability to respond in a timely manner to building emergencies during and after hours;
· Ability to work alone without supervision;
· Perform minor tasks throughout the Pastoral Center and other diocesan buildings in and around the Capital District. Includes painting and janitorial duties from time to time;
· Ability to move office furniture and perform set up for scheduled meetings.
· Familiarity with Building Maintenance software or the ability to learn and use said software program.
Job Requirements:
· Must demonstrate an understanding of building systems.
· Prior carpentry, plumbing, HVAC and electrical experience.
· Ability to operate maintenance equipment, including operating a snow plow, snow blower, mower, lawn tractor etc.
· Must have good organizational skills.
· Requires reading and writing skills.
· Computer skills are desirable.
· Valid driver’s license with a record of safe operation of motor vehicles.
· Must possess the ability to work well with other departments and staff.
· Must be courteous and flexible in approach to work.
· Must demonstrate respect for the traditions and teachings of the Roman Catholic faith.
