Genetics Counselor provides genetic counseling and education to individuals and families at risk for hereditary disorders. Obtains and analyzes family medical history to identify patients at risk for specific disorders or syndromes. Being a Genetics Counselor recommends genetic testing as warranted and counsels patients on test results, treatment and alternative coping methods. May provide crisis intervention as needed. Additionally, Genetics Counselor requires a master's degree of Genetic Counseling. Typically reports to a manager or director. Requires board certification from the American Board of Genetic Counseling (ABGC) or American Board of Medical Genetics (ABMG). Typically requires a state license to practice. Job Description – Lab Technician
Location: Marysville, OH
Reports to: Lab Supervisor
POSITION SUMMARY
The Lab Technician will utilize a solid foundation of basic laboratory techniques and experience, such as flow cytometry and sperm physiology. Under the supervision of the Lab Supervisor the Lab Technician will learn how to operate several sorting units at one time. The Lab Technician will provide training to other individuals who may be assigned to the laboratory on a regular or temporary basis. The Lab Technician may be assigned independent projects and may also participate in the creation of special projects.
This position will be 100% trained and will work independently upon completion of training
