Job Ttile: Lab Technician: Bovine Genetics

Location: Deforest, WI

Reports to: Lab Manager

Looking for a motivated cell culture laboratory technician. The ideal candidate should be comfortable working in a wet lab setting and be familiar with aseptic techniques and mammalian cell culture. They should be able to work well with a team but also be comfortable working independently. The candidate will work in a fast-paced working environment with great opportunities for growth. Being organized and observant is a must.

Position is full time 40hr/week (8:00-4:00) with rotating weekends and holidays

Compensation determined by work experience

Duties include but are not limited to:

• Arrive on time and communicate with all team members in a professional manner

• Keep a clean and organized lab

• Restock items in lab as needed

• Aliquot stock solutions

• Make fresh media weekly

• Change cell culture media daily

• Thaw/freeze cells

• Embryo manipulation

• Keep a detailed lab notebook

• Be comfortable calculating dilutions

• Read research papers and provide insights to group discussions

Education / Qualifications

• BS in Biology, Biochemistry or a related science field

• Demonstrated experience in a Laboratory setting and cell culture (e.g., media preparation, cell culture, passaging, freezing, thawing, cell characterization).

• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Powerpoint.

• Strong attention to detail

• Ability to work weekends and holidays
