Being a Geologist studies variations in rock formations and densities to identify new mineral deposits. Estimates depth, quality and vastness of deposits. Additionally, Geologist tests mineral quality and purity to determine feasibility of mining. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. Project work will typically be performed from a desktop setting; however, occasional travel to project sites is expected.Required Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in Geology and at least 5 years of experience; OR a master’s degree in geology preferred and at least 2 years of experienceA minimum of 3 years of experience with geophysical well log analysis and interpretationAt least 2 years of experience working with an engineering team in delivering comprehensive subsurface projectsFamiliarity with project databases, well logging software, QA/QC programs, and drill-sample collection and processing proceduresA minimum of 2 years of experience with a variety of geologic settings and environmentsCertified Professional Geologist (CPG) and/or Professional Geologist (P.Geo) licensure, or the ability to obtain.Compensation: Salary depends on experience and expertise.
