Job Requirements:
The entry-level Survey Field Crew position is the gateway into our Surveying & Mapping/Geomatics Division.
Primary Responsibilities include:
- Load truck with the necessary equipment and supplies that are needed throughout the day.
- Transport and set up the instruments/equipment and prepare the job site for the survey.
- Clear brush and trees away from the survey line.
- Hold the prism pole steady for the surveyor to help determine elevations of different points.
- Measure how far different points are from each other, using tape or electronic equipment; Help with the various pieces of survey equipment.
- Have familiarity/working knowledge of survey equipment.
- Operate the surveying equipment with the supervisor's oversight.
Requirements:
- High School and/or specialized training from a vocational or technical school.
- Valid driver's license with approved/acceptable driving history required.
- Ability to travel (if needed)
- Ability to carry and lift equipment as needed on the project.
- Ability to cut and/or clear brush while establishing survey lines. (machete use)
- Adequate knowledge of equipment and the ability to set up for various types of work.
- Ability to hold and proficiently use a prism pole, rods, and other measuring devices.
- Be able to lift the pieces of equipment required for a project.
