    Job Description

    Description:
    The Geospatial Analyst III, under general supervision, supports geographic information systems, (GIS) analyses, operations, and modeling efforts for program areas. Assists with the implementation and support of key projects. Identifies opportunities where geospatial analysis can provide solutions to complex issues.

    Responsibilities:
    Coordination of Data Collection

    Coordinate data collection field activities such as, Global Navigation Satellite Systems (GNSS) observations, unmanned arial surveys, and mobile or terrestrial lidar surveys.
    Work with internal and external parties to define the scope of field activities and ensure adequate resources are deployed to facilitate successful data collection.
    Assist with physical data collection when necessary.

    Data Processing

    Submit field data to the Online Positioning User Service (OPUS) for processing and adjustment. Data processing will include configuration or re-configuration of observational data such that the optimum position is created for each control point.
    Submit processed data to the designated OPUS Projects for inclusion in the federal elevation model.

    System Support and Design

    Work with internal and external parties during the design, development, integration and implementation of software and systems that facilitate the dissemination of geo-rectified data products.
    Work with internal and external parties on the development of products related to the Texas State Plane Coordinate System.
    Assist with integration of geo-rectified data products into other partner systems such as cGPS data, InSar.

    Education and Outreach

    Support research team in developing deliverables such as progress reports, presentations or papers.
    Attend events such as conferences or stakeholder meetings and disseminate research results.
    Assist research team in hosting events to deliver research results to surveying professionals and other stakeholders.

    Qualifications:
    Bachelors degree in Geographic Information Systems (GIS), Geodesy, Geomatics, Geomatics, Earth Systems, Geography, or related field.
    Seven (7) years of verifiable experience with Global Navigation Satellite Systems (GNSS), remote sensing and/or coordinate systems equipment, data collection, software and data processing.
    Knowledge of Continuous Global Positioning System (cGPS) operation, geodetic systems, equipment, data processing, surveying systems and techniques and positional triangulation.

    Preferred Qualifications:
    MS in Geographic Information Systems (GIS), Geomatics, Geodesy, Earth Systems, Geography or related field.
    Ten (10) or more years of verifiable experience with Global Navigation Satellite Systems (GNSS), remote sensing and/or coordinate systems equipment, data collection, software and data processing.
