Job DescriptionOne of our clients NJ offices is seeking a senior civil/geotechnical engineer to help expand our to New Jersey. An expert knowledge of engineering principles relating to Geo structural design of foundations is essential for this position. The candidate needs to be a strong seller doer with proven track record of client development and strong engineering skills. We are looking for a strong "seller-doer" to expand and grow our existing geotechnical engineering practice in the New Jersey and mid-Atlantic region, augmenting our existing staff resources in the northeast. The candidate will be tasked with developing and growing geotechnical engineering services with support from our established practices in New York and New England. Ownership options are available depending on experience. Typical duties will include: business development, proposal preparation, mentoring and training junior staff, reviewing technical reports and design documents. Excellent writing and presentation skills are a must. Responsibilities Business development activities in the Geotechnical Core Services area, including prospective client contact and solicitation as well as proposal preparation for both private and public sector clients; Grow the Geotechnical Engineering group in the New Jersey. Serving as a Senior Engineer and/or technical reviewer on projects, conducting and overseeing technical assignments, and managing budgets and schedules to meet clients' needs in accordance with our internal accounting and loss prevention practices. This includes preparation and/or supervision of proposals consistent with Client's pricing strategy, policies and procedures, and financial responsibilities including the punctual invoicing of clients, collection of accounts receivables, and assisting in the preparation of budgets and business plans Mentor and train junior staff. Work with project teams on geotechnical engineering projects that involve field work, data evaluation and engineering analysis for dam, transportation, building, waterfront, energy and other infrastructure projects. Assisting senior management in the Mid-Atlantic Region with identifying target hires and developing additional staff as necessary to execute projects you will be working on and/or bringing into the company. Participation in strategic planning for future growth of On-site and office consultation and coordination with federal, State, county and/or local resource agencies Professional development and participation in appropriate professional and trade organizationQualificationsMust have a Master's degree in Geotechnical or Civil Engineering Must have at least fifteen years of engineering experience. Must have New Jersey P.E. license. Publications and proven technical writing skills Must possess demonstrated seller/doer skills.
