The Global Controller ensures the preparation and analysis of all financial reports meet the needs of the organization and comply with all applicable regulations. Directs and develops the organization's international accounting principles, practices, procedures, and initiatives. Being a Global Controller advises management of potential changes in accounting regulations or practices that may impact international operations and reporting. Maintains an in-depth, and up to date knowledge and understanding of both US and international accounting principles. In addition, Global Controller requires a bachelor's degree of accounting or finance. Typically reports to a CFO or top management. Typically requires CPA. The Global Controller manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. A school district in Golden, CO is looking for a full time Controller to join their team. This will be a 5 day, onsite role in Golden. The school district is embarking on a whole-scale change to the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system. This will include not only replacing the software for financial and human resources management, but also the opportunity to streamline processes and use 21st century technology to automate more of our workflow. The controller will serve as a lead, reporting directly to the CFO. This position will have the leadership opportunity to redefine roles and team structures to fully leverage the functionality in the new system. The controller will lead the team of professionals responsible for accounting, grants management, audit, internal audit, accounts payable, and financial reporting within the district. The Controller leads goal setting, analysis and continuous improvement efforts within the team to provide efficient and effective service to stakeholders inside and outside the district. The role required leadership experience, government accounting, and forward-thinking capabilities to lead a district.
