Position Summary

Leads logistics team in day-to-day operations as well as provide administrative duties for the processing of shipments, warehousing, and work order planning.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Supervises daily logistics activities ensuring completion of all scheduled shipments, work order readiness and general warehousing.

• Ensures daily accurate count of warehouse assets.

• Keep track of logistical reports in order to decrease safety occurrences, quality deficiencies, and late shipments.

• Prepares material for shipment and completes all necessary documentation for domestic and international shipments.

• Contacts trucklines and freight forwarders for collection of all domestic and international shipments.

• Completes all necessary shipping documentation and quality records as required.

• Maintains a clean and safe work environment.

Supervisory Responsibilities

Directly supervises employees. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance to the Company policies, the Code of Ethical Business Conduct, and applicable laws.

Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Education

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or equivalent combination of education and four years' experience with an emphasis in shipping.

Skills/Experience

Language Skills: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions and short correspondence and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees.

Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent, and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

Reasoning Ability: Use of judgment to plan, perform and make decisions as to the sequence of set-ups, operations, and processes within the limitations of recognized or standard methods and procedures.

Other Skills and Abilities

• Ability and certification required to drive forklift, operate overhead crane, and jib hoists.

• Ability to operate small hand tools

• Proven experience in related field

• Demonstrated computer skills

• Must possess a valid driver's license in state of residence and be insurable under company's motor vehicle insurance policy
