The Global Mobility Manager establishes, implements, and maintains policies and practices for assisting employees and their families as they relocate. Manages the employee relocation process, which may include but is not limited to sale of current residence, lease cancellation, home purchase or rental, realtor selection, mortgage assistance, and movement of household goods. Being a Global Mobility Manager approves relocation budgets and plans and the disbursement of funds. Works to minimize relocation costs and disruption of work for the employee and the organization. In addition, Global Mobility Manager requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to top management. The Global Mobility Manager typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments.     The Global Trade Compliance Manager will be responsible for assisting in the development, deployment and continuous improvement of trade and customs practices across the EAME Region as informed by the Director of Global Trade Compliance within Berry’s Legal Department. This position will help to ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulatory requirements.  This person will provide strategic support for prioritization and execution of initiatives that support the trade practices within the region and globally.

    Qualifications

    • 10 years of experience leading a regional customs program for a multi-national company
    • An effective communicator with the ability to build consensus, present business cases, and advocate for change
    • Strong data analytics skills and experience in using trade data to develop proposals, processes and performance measures.
    • Fluency in ERP systems, Business Intelligence reporting, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint and SharePoint.
    • Experience working across multiple business units and management teams
    • Strong continuous improve mindset and experience in process/procedure implementation
    • Fluent English speaker

    Responsabilités

    Specific responsibilities include:

    • Engage with the businesses to develop and maintain Import/Export compliance processes and procedures in adherence with the corporate policy and regulatory requirements
    • Develop and execute communication/change management plans to engage with key business stakeholders (individuals and groups) to embed processes.
    • Act as a subject matter expert for trade compliance matters for the region
    • Identify opportunities to utilize special customs programs such as Inward Processing, customs warehousing, AEO, and duty deferral programs. Lead projects to quantify the business case and coordinate the implementation of these programs
    • Coordinate with business leaders on overall trade and customs program design and priorities
    • Administer and support tariff classification reviews to ensure alignment across business segments
    • Oversee adoption of policies for supplier declarations in support of origin claims and claims for preference under various Free Trade Agreements
    • Conduct internal training on topics including commodity codes, INCOTERMS, Country of Origin determination, Free Trade Agreement eligibility, and customs valuation
    • Ensure customs administrative functions, including applications and certifications, are carried out in compliance with local law and corporate policy
    • Support drafting of responses to information requests from Customs and regulatory agencies, brokers & stakeholders
    • Monitor potential export sanctions concerns under US and local rules and proper escalation of concerns to corporate compliance resources and legal counsel
    • Review transactions, commercial contracts and other agreements as needed to provide guidance on trade matters
    • Develop processes for the management of complex transactions involving import and export. These include, but are not limited to:
      • Molds, equipment and samples (either raw materials or product) for testing, production, repair or refurbishment.
      • Intercompany transfers of tangible assets (plant; machinery etc.).
      • Cross-border movement of Free of Charge goods (including, but not limited to, samples).
