The Global Mobility Manager establishes, implements, and maintains policies and practices for assisting employees and their families as they relocate. Manages the employee relocation process, which may include but is not limited to sale of current residence, lease cancellation, home purchase or rental, realtor selection, mortgage assistance, and movement of household goods. Being a Global Mobility Manager approves relocation budgets and plans and the disbursement of funds. Works to minimize relocation costs and disruption of work for the employee and the organization. In addition, Global Mobility Manager requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to top management. The Global Mobility Manager typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments. This position can sit out of any mutually agreed WSP USA office.  Be involved with a dedicated team that builds upon WSP’s storied history supporting public and private clients across the globe in the transportation sector.  Our experts are focused on leveraging both proven and emerging technology to provide end-to-end services for federal, state and local clients including concept development, planning, specification development, engineering, integration, and evaluation. In addition, we also conduct robust research activities, such as supporting projects for USDOT, AASHTO, TRB/NCHRP, and FHWA pooled fund studies. 

    This position reports to our National ITS Lead and Transportation Operations Director with the flexibility to support all areas within our broader Tolling and Transportation Operations National Business Line, including Intelligent Transportation Systems, Road Usage Charging, Managed Lanes, Tolling / Congestion Pricing, Connected & Automated Vehicle, and other mobility technology applications. We also work closely with local offices and collaborate with staff across the country - as well as support our international teams focused on the same subject matter areas.     Your Impact

    • Serve as project manager, deputy project manager, or technical task lead for projects, focusing on the analysis and authorship of planning, policy analysis, funding strategies, system requirements, concept of operations, strategic communications, and risk analysis and management of TSMO and other mobility technology projects.
    • Support innovative mobility technology research, planning, and deployment projects throughout the United States, in particular the many different USDOT, NCHRP, and pooled fund Study projects that are pushing the leading edge of concepts such as TSMO emerging topics and technologies, next generation traffic management systems, or the application of artificial intelligence for transportation management.
    • Support national business line development activities for mobility technology, including the identification of project leads with prospective clients and developing a pre-positioning plan to enhance the likelihood of WSP success in landing the project.
    • Support national and local office business development and project delivery activities, with attention to maintaining WSP’s leadership in innovation and quality.
    • Serve as an WSP representative/liaison to a variety of external entities including Federal, State, and Local Agencies, Clients, Subcontractors, industry-related groups, and various government and community entities
    • Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources, and conduct, and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures
    • Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs
    • Represent the firm in the market through involvement in client and industry events and associations to promote intelligence gathering and pipeline development
    • Develop promotional and proposal material development.
    • Develop new business leads, including the identification of project leads with prospective clients and developing a pre-positioning plan to enhance the likelihood of WSP success in landing the project.
    • Develop strategic alliances and project partners to secure new work.
    • Lead strategic project pursuits.
    • Participate in negotiations to secure contract awards.
    • Anticipate medium and long-term client needs, industry dynamics, and changing market conditions, with strategic and action plans to address these.

    WSP strongly believes that we demonstrate value for our clients through active participation and leadership in project delivery. Our seller-doer philosophy carries forward into your typical week, where you can anticipate roughly: 

    • 75% of your time working on projects for our clients. Project work would include activities such as project and task management, leading research and analysis, authoring various technical memoranda and reports, and conducting workshops with clients to lead to decisions and actions.  
    • 15% on active pursuits and business development to clients. Activities would include strategizing new opportunities, identifying leads, pre-positioning with potential clients, co-authoring proposal responses, and leading interviews for new projects.
    • 10% representing your subject matter expertise internally and externally to the industry. Activities include conducting lunch and learn opportunities, authoring white papers and other thought pieces, representing WSP at key industry events and associations, and leading high-profile presentations. 

    Who You Are

    Required Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree with a major in business, civil/transportation engineering, industrial engineering, electrical engineering, computer science, math, transportation planning, public policy, or related field.
    • A minimum of 10 years of experience in the transportation industry.
    • Evidence of leadership qualities and ability to network with clients and others in the field.
    • Demonstrated ability to synthesize problems, think creatively, work independently, and deliver high quality work with minimal supervision.
    • Demonstrated strong analytical and quantitative skills.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to present both technical and policy results and recommendations.
    • Active engagement in relevant industry organizations.
    • Organized, self-starter with a strong entrepreneurial spirit
    • Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.
    • Proven record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies
    • Immediate ability to work in the United States. 

    Preferred Qualifications 

    • Master’s Degree is preferred.
    • Essential professional licensure/certification.
    • Strong experience in managing the review and approval of documents and discipline-specific deliverables, certifications, processes, and plans in a multi-project environment is highly desirable.
    • Past project management experience and successes with analyzing, developing, and/or deploying mobility technology, TSMO, and/or ITS programs for state and federal departments of transportation. 
    • Recognized for technical excellence and thought leadership in mobility technology, TSMO, ITS, and emerging transportation technologies.

    Compensation


    Expected Salary (all locations): $150,000 - $220,000
    WSP USA is providing the compensation range that the company in good faith believes it might pay and offer for this position, based on the successful applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities in addition to internal equity and specific geographic location. WSP USA reserves the right to ultimately pay more or less than the posted range and offer additional benefits and other compensation, depending on circumstances not related to an applicant’s sex or other status protected by local, state, and/or federal law.

    Expected Salary (Colorado only): $160,000-$200,000

    WSP USA is providing the compensation range that the company in good faith believes it might pay and/or offer for this position within the state of Colorado, based on the successful applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities in addition to internal equity and specific geographic location.
