The Global Mobility Manager establishes, implements, and maintains policies and practices for assisting employees and their families as they relocate. Manages the employee relocation process, which may include but is not limited to sale of current residence, lease cancellation, home purchase or rental, realtor selection, mortgage assistance, and movement of household goods. Being a Global Mobility Manager approves relocation budgets and plans and the disbursement of funds. Works to minimize relocation costs and disruption of work for the employee and the organization. In addition, Global Mobility Manager requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to top management. The Global Mobility Manager typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments.     ABOUT THE POSITION
    The critical position of Global Category Manager (GCM) is responsible for the leadership, optimization, strategy, optimization, and execution of Strategic Procurement for the category of services and expenditures. This position will integrate closely with the businesses and functions to foster a culture of executing on customer satisfaction, cost, quality, and efficiency improvements, and assure supplier performance to provide exceptional value to Astec.  A key success factor is being able to clearly articulate the category vision and influence the organization.  Direct value contribution will be a major contributor to the strategic goals of supply chain and contribution to the company’s performance and bottom-line results.

    Key Deliverables
    • Category strategies - inclusive of managing agreements, supplier relationships and procurement processes.
    • Contracts - Actively negotiate new contracts with new suppliers.
    • Progress - Track the progression of the procurement functions.
    • Supplier Selection - Oversees supplier’s selection and performance management.
    • Best Practice output – Inclusive of industry contract norms and latest best practices.

    Key Activities & Responsibilities
    • Develop, Implement, and own Category Strategies ensuring alignment with the company vision of Simplify, Focus and Grow.
    • Effective execution of agreed upon Global category strategies on a timely basis while achieving the strategic plans for the organization, which will include Cost Down, Cash In, Supply Base Optimization, OTD, optimal Payment Terms, PPM& KPI objectives for Global, BU & Site
    • Negotiate new supply contracts and select and develop relationships with key suppliers
    • Develop and communicate the category charters for the products within the assigned categories
    • Communication and alignment of the charters with business unit stakeholders to align with growth strategies
    • Utilize leading practices & tools to drive strategies within categories
    • Prepare for and lead significant negotiations ensuring Astec is getting the most competitive pricing for its external spend, through RFQ’s, TCO models and proven contract negotiation strategies
    • Manage portfolio of commercial contracts and vendor relationships
    • Analyze RFQ and negotiation outcomes and evaluate business unit needs to properly develop and execute comprehensive strategies
    • GCM liaison with NPD Manager aligning company and Global Procurement objectives
    • Lead change management with cross-functional teams and key contacts both internal and external
    • Optimize and enforce scalable/sustainable processes to ensure effective procurement across the organization
    • Assimilate, report and speak about costs and savings to management and others on a regular basis
    • Be a strong contributor to the budgeting process initially and throughout the year by comparing actual to budget and providing projections and run rates to management
    • Work closely with the Operational Leads (Tactical Buyer) and Material Planning organization to ensure alignment and effective execution of the agreed category strategies and related KPI’s
    • Analysis of supplier performance based on metrics and feedback from stakeholders
    • Conduct supplier reviews and direct corrective actions when needed
    • Conduct supplier site visits/ audits to leverage full supplier capabilities and confirm that supplier meets quality and performance objectives, including financial assessment
    • Track key metrics and measure to gauge the success of the procurement function
    • Research and understand the market conditions, advances in technology, supplier performance and economic forecasts. Professionally resolve problems (both internal and external) in a fair and ethical manner while protecting the long-term interests of the Company.
    • Ensures that the highest standards of professional integrity are maintained
    • Ensuring the compliance with all statutory, regulatory, and legal requirements as well


    To be successful in this role, your experience and competencies are:
    • BS or BA degree required, Supply Chain Management or Business related
    • ASCM or APICS certification as CSCP, CPIM, CLTD, ISM certification, desired
    • 10 years’ progressive experience in direct and/or indirect Procurement and Strategic Sourcing for large global/multinational, process driven companies, building and optimizing programs across diverse teams and cultures
    • Demonstrated leadership capabilities
    • Working in and understanding a Matrix Organization is highly desired
    • In depth knowledge and experience of strategic procurement processes
    • Demonstrated success in formulating strategic sourcing strategies, developing and maintaining effective relationships with key suppliers, and establishing effective processes and methods of ensuring satisfactory supplier performance
    • Experience in identifying supply chain business opportunities that maximize profitability
    • Experience in selecting, leading, and ensuring desired outcome with external procurement resource management
    • Experience in leading through influence without reliance on reporting lines
    • Demonstrated success in leveraging global spends across the enterprise
    • Strong project management and leadership & communication skills
    • Highly self-motivated to develop strategic, tactical, and operational direction
    • Ability to provide responsive support to business units and accomplish corporate cost reductions
    • Excellent interpersonal skills to facilitate change management with colleagues and key contacts throughout the company
    • Strong data analytical, financial and research capabilities, proven problem-solving skills. Ability to make appropriate decisions.
    • Excellent and proven negotiation skills, master at spend segmentation, global and strategic category management, and risk management
    • Ability to read, understand legally binding contracts
    • Understanding of Source to Pay and Procure to Pay processes, Oracle ERP Systems (or related) preparation and deployment; proficiency with Oracle & Microsoft Office applications; and the ability learn additional IT analytical programs
    • Culturally aware and proven emotional intelligence to guide thinking and behavior
    • Ability to work within a global matrix organization
    • Travel 30%, Hybrid/remote up to 50% possible
