POSITION SUMMARY:
The Global Materials Manager is responsible for Materials Management (MM) process and execution that includes development of multi-year strategic vision, execution for results and talent / people development working across sites in consistent process. This position oversees the supplier performance, risk mitigation actions, and monthly supply-demand planning reviews. The strategic projects in this role include process deployment and improvements projects with R&R and ERP system adoption consistently across sites so they can be leveraged for effectiveness and efficiency. Measures include Inventory DOH / $, Raw material shortage and Excess to plan, Process and Problem-Solving Innovation, Overall business Results, and People / Talent Management.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Materials Supply Planning and Supplier Performance Management
-
Drive, supervise and review the overall materials management strategies and optimal inventory mix in collaboration with the site / regional SIOP (Sales, Inventory, and Operations Plan) teams to meet management objectives as well as customer's specific expectations.

Lead and communicate all strategic supply risk actions, global commodity strategy tie-in and status updates to stakeholders.

Benchmark and deploy new or revised SOP (Standard Operating Procedures),
-
Standard work for roles, and dashboard of measures (for team members, suppliers and business results).

ERP system integrity and utilization of capabilities for efficiency and effectiveness across sites globally.

Ensure master data and MM strategies are kept updated and refreshed at identified cadence.

Establish and align annual goals/objectives and metrics for Supply Chain MM KPIs and leading indicators across sites in the region, track performance to metrics on a monthly basis to ensure goals are being met.

Apply experience and knowledge as it relates to the essential functions of Demand forecasting, Planning, Procurement, Material Management, Customer Service and Shipping / Receiving to improve the overall service, efficiency, and effectiveness in these areas to meet business needs.
STRATEGIC PROJECTS

Inventory management and build planning/ attainment process implementation and the optimization of inventory globally: Raw, Work In Process, Finished Goods, In Transit, Intercompany & Core.

As part of excellence culture identify root causes for top MM issues/ variances and corrective actions.

SIOP and MRP-related projects: develop proposed supply chain solutions focusing on cost reductions, supply flexibility, quality, and delivery targets being met.
QUALIFICATIONS

BS. degree in Supply Chain or Materials Management, Engineering, or Business,
-
Minimum 5 years in the areas of direct material purchasing, planning, scheduling, and inventory management.

High Mix / Short Lead-Time products manufacturing experience desired

Excellent leadership, teamwork, interpersonal, and oral/written communication skills are required, along with a strong work ethic and sound business judgment.

Knowledge of materials management and processes required.

Experience with visual management / Kanban systems
-
Strong verbal and written communication skills, along with collaborative management skills are a must.

Knowledge of accounting practices as applied to procurement procedures is preferred.

A working knowledge base of ERP systems, and MRP processes.

Prior SAP experience is a plus, however, will train according to skill level

Intermediate-Advance Microsoft Office Skills

Proven skill in driving total cost improvement initiatives a must.
