The Global Mobility Manager establishes, implements, and maintains policies and practices for assisting employees and their families as they relocate. Manages the employee relocation process, which may include but is not limited to sale of current residence, lease cancellation, home purchase or rental, realtor selection, mortgage assistance, and movement of household goods. Being a Global Mobility Manager approves relocation budgets and plans and the disbursement of funds. Works to minimize relocation costs and disruption of work for the employee and the organization. In addition, Global Mobility Manager requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to top management. The Global Mobility Manager typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments. Immigration and Global Mobility Manager

  • What you’ll be responsible for:

    You will oversee and manage our company's immigration processes and global mobility programs. You will lead all aspects of our immigration program and processes. You will join a team focused on helping Circle’s employees be as effective as possible. You will be the primary point of contact for hiring managers, candidates, employees, Talent team, and outside counsel regarding all immigration matters. You will be involved in collaborating with external partners, ensuring compliance with regulations, and providing support to employees during international assignments and relocations. You will be responsible for staying on top of all government, regulatory and/or other pertinent standards, requirements or information regarding employment of individuals on work visas and authorizations and ultimately the success of securing visas for all of our employees that need sponsorship. 

    What you'll work on: 

    Immigration:

    • Collaborate with our external immigration attorneys to manage all aspects of business visitor visas, employment visas, permanent residency applications, and citizenship applications, ensuring exceptional service.
    • Provide guidance on visa processing times, sponsorship requirements, associated risks, and costs for potential candidates.
    • Maintain and review visa tracker, ensuring timely initiation and filing of extensions.
    • Ensure full compliance with immigration records maintenance.
    • Draft and complete visa/travel letters as needed.
    • Identify process improvement opportunities and develop recommendations to enhance efficiency and improve the employee experience.
    • Coordinate resolutions to complex immigration matters with outside counsel, communicating solutions to employees and the business.
    • Educate managers and employees on visa and green card application and renewal processes.
    • Communicate global immigration policies and develop procedures across the region.
    • Conduct regular internal audits and support ad-hoc projects as needed.

    Global Mobility:

    • Build and maintain a global mobility strategy and program that suits the needs of Circle’s international growth.
    • Create new partnerships with relocation vendors to administer domestic transfers and international relocations and assignments, including creating cost projections and relocation/assignment letters.
    • Coordinate resolutions to complex mobility cases with relocation vendors.
    • Monitor immigration and mobility compliance and risks.
    • Coordinate payments related to the mobility program (e.g., billing/invoices, reimbursements, general expenses).
    • Collaborate with HR Business Partners to create and communicate relocation packages, answering questions and resolving issues.
    • Communicate global mobility policies and procedures across the globe.
    • Consult with Talent, other stakeholders, and business units to determine the options for international moves.
    • Provide advice on international employee mobilization topics, creating and building knowledge in our global mobility information repository.
    • Develop new approaches to streamline mobility processes globally.
    • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key HR and business contacts.
    • Manage a portfolio of cases across different business divisions and levels.
    • Manage the assignee/permanent transfer experience from beginning to end.
    • Work closely with external vendors to ensure exceptional service to employees and maximize cost efficiencies.
    • Coordinate internal transfer requirements for international assignments and permanent transfers, such as payroll, pension, benefits, and HRIS updates.

    What you’ll bring to Circle:  

    • 8 years of human resources experience including global and US based immigration experience
    • Experience with global immigration work and residence permit for expat country to country moves, nonimmigrant visas (H-1B, H-1B1, B-1, E-3, F-1, J-1, L-1, and O-1 visas), PERM labor certifications as well as immigrant visas.
    • Proven experience developing trusted relationships at all levels of an organization including senior level talent to drive programs
    • Excellent organization and time management skills, strong attention to detail, proven history of managing projects, meeting deadlines, and producing excellent deliverables.
    • Demonstrated ability to multitask and work within a fast-paced, high-volume practice while meeting deadlines and maintaining a high level of productivity.
    • Unquestionable ethical and professional judgment as well as the ability to work with confidential documents and information.
    • Ability to train others on immigration practice and procedures, review work, and prepare training documents.
    • Good working knowledge of tax, immigration, and social security regulations, particularly in the US and Canada.
    • Thrive in a fast-paced environment
    • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills with the ability to constantly reprioritize.
    • Global team player, able to work effectively and inclusively with remote teams, with a view to developing people management skills.
    • Level-headed leadership under pressure along with creative problem-solving abilities
    • Bachelor’s degree preferred
    • Experience/familiarity with Slack, Apple MacOS and GSuite.

    Starting pay is determined by various factors, including but not limited to: relevant experience, skill set, qualifications, and other business and organizational needs. Please note that compensation ranges may differ for candidates in other locations.

    Base Pay Range: $130,000 - $170,000

    Annual Bonus Target: 15%

    Also Included: Equity & Benefits (including medical, dental, vision and 401(k)). Circle has a discretionary vacation policy. We also provide 10 days of paid sick leave per year and 11 paid holidays per year in the U.S.
