Golf Greenskeeper jobs in Alabama
Golf Greenskeeper performs various golf course maintenance activities, including mowing, trimming, and edging. Lays sod, plants trees, and seeds turf. Being a Golf Greenskeeper repairs ball marks on greens, tees and fairway divots. Maintains bunkers and sand traps, changes holes, and performs other general maintenance activities. Additionally, Golf Greenskeeper may be responsible for the upkeep and fueling of golf course maintenance equipment. Requires a high school diploma. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Golf Greenskeeper works under moderate supervision. Gaining or has attained full proficiency in a specific area of discipline. This is a unique opportunity to be part of a new high end golf course.Key Responsibilities of the Greenskeeper I:
- Performs general landscape maintenance using hand held equipment
- Rakes and maintains sand bunkers.
- Operates small machinery to assist with edging, trimming and mowing.
- Prepares soil beds for sod, seed and vegetative material.
- Involved with tasks related to course detail (weed and debris clean up).
- Assists with golf course set-up procedures.
- Operates utility vehicles for hauling material and removing debris.
- Performs skilled duties related to experience (pruning, plugging, etc.).
- Operates equipment safely and is aware of associates and their prospective work areas.
- Incorporates safe work practices in job performance.
- Performs other duties as required.
Minimum Qualifications for the Greenskeeper I:
- One month related experience or training.
- Must have a valid driver's license.
