Golf Greenskeeper performs various golf course maintenance activities, including mowing, trimming, and edging. Lays sod, plants trees, and seeds turf. Being a Golf Greenskeeper repairs ball marks on greens, tees and fairway divots. Maintains bunkers and sand traps, changes holes, and performs other general maintenance activities. Additionally, Golf Greenskeeper may be responsible for the upkeep and fueling of golf course maintenance equipment. Requires a high school diploma. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Golf Greenskeeper works under moderate supervision. Gaining or has attained full proficiency in a specific area of discipline. SUMMARYMaintains grounds and turf of golf course in playing condition as directed by Maintenance Supervisor by performing the following duties.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
1. Mowing greens, raking bunkers, loading and unloading fertilizers andpesticides as directed by a qualified employee. Perform maintenanceduties as directed by superintendent or assistant.2. Operate maintenance equipment in a safe and orderly manner; reportingany and all equipment deficiencies.3. Connects hose and sprinkler systems at designated points on course toirrigate turf.4. Digs and rakes ground to prepare greens, grades and cleans bunkers, andrepairs cart paths.5. Plants, trims, and cares for trees and shrubs.6. Wear and maintain all safety clothing and equipment as required.7. Cleans equipment and work areas daily.8. Maintain a cooperative working relationship with staff and propertyowners.9. May be required to drive POA vehicle or personal vehicle whileconducting POA business.10. Other duties as assigned.11. Regular attendance is required.
QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Must be able to work weekends, holidays and overtime and must be 18 years old or older.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCEHigh School diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
MECHANICAL ABILITYMust be able to work with power equipment and hand tools.
REASONING ABILITYAbility to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONSRequires a valid Arkansas drivers license and clean driving record with proof of liability insurance.
