New England Golf and Tennis Camp is looking for a passionate and skilled Greenskeeper to ensure our golf facilities are well maintained for the upcoming season. Room and board is available.

About Us:

New England Golf and Tennis Camp is a co-ed camp for ages 7 to 17 located on the shores of the crystal-clear Salmon Lake in Belgrade, Maine. Our unique program combines the professional training, instruction and focus of a junior golf camp and tennis specialty camp with the warmth, fun and community of a traditional Maine overnight summer camp. Our camp boasts top-of-the-line facilities including a meticulously maintained five-hole executive golf course, 300-yard driving range, and putting greens.

Role Overview:

The Greenskeeper will play a critical role in ensuring our golf course and grounds are in pristine condition, providing an exceptional playing surface for our camp attendees. This is a seasonal position that offers the unique opportunity to work in a dynamic and rewarding environment, where your efforts will directly enhance the experience of young golfers.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform routine maintenance tasks on the golf course, including but not limited to mowing, trimming, aerating and seeding.
• Monitor the health of the golf course turf and implement necessary interventions to maintain optimal conditions.
• Assist in the preparation of the course for daily play as well as for any special events or tournaments.
• Work closely with the Camp and Golf Director and other staff to ensure the course's appearance and performance meet our high standards.
• Operate and maintain equipment and tools associated with golf course maintenance in a safe and efficient manner.
• Address any issues or damages to the course promptly, ensuring minimal disruption to camp activities.
• Provide guidance and oversight to junior maintenance staff, as needed.
• Lodging and meals on grounds are available (bring your kids and spouse).

Qualifications and Experience:

• Proven experience in golf course maintenance or a related field.
• Knowledge of turf management, pest control, and the safe operation of maintenance equipment.
• Ability to work early mornings and weekends, with a flexible schedule to accommodate camp events.
• Strong attention to detail, work ethic, and a passion for providing exceptional playing conditions.
• Effective communication skills and the ability to work well within a team environment.
• A commitment to safety protocols and environmental stewardship.
• Compensation based on experience.

Job Types: Full-time, Contract

Schedule:

• Monday to Friday
• Weekends as needed
