Golf Superintendent - Assistant assists the Superintendent in the overall maintenance and care of the golf course, including turf/grass management, irrigation, and chemical applications (e.g., fertilizer, pesticides) to ensure quality playing conditions. Supervises personnel and participates in the maintenance of the golf course tees, greens, fairways, and cart paths. Being a Golf Superintendent - Assistant ensures adherence to golf course maintenance budget and capital plans. May serve in the Superintendent's capacity during absence. Additionally, Golf Superintendent - Assistant may require an associate degree. Typically reports to a golf course superintendent. Working team member that may validate or coordinate the work of others on a support team. Suggests improvements to process, is a knowledge resource for other team members.   • To serve in the capacity of the Assistant Superintendent and perform the appropriate essential functions and responsibilities. The Assistant Superintendent will serve as the instructional leader and will provide leadership, direction, and supervision for school efficient and effective operational and academic management by directly supervising the cadre of directors. This position will support the continued growth of principals and district leaders. Will be responsible for ensuring the implementation of board policies and the MCS strategic plan. Will be responsible for overseeing grants and school improvement. Will use data to drive informed decision making and allocation of resources. Will oversee safety.


    Essential Functions and Responsibilities


    • Coordinate and manage various Grants and Athletic Partnerships.
    • Research and recommend program initiatives that enhance the flexibility provided the school corporation by the State of Indiana through the school corporation's partnership with Ball State University.
    • Direct school improvement across the school district and oversee the preparation of district and building level reports on progress of school improvement.
    • Support the Elementary and Secondary Directors in addressing common instructional and non-instructional issues in the schools.
    • Communicate and collaborate with families and community members, respond to diverse community interests, needs, and parent/patron complaints as necessary.
    • Create and maintain district handbooks, textbook fee schedule, and yearly calendars.
    • Plan and coordinate the annual MCS/BSU Summit Conference.
    • Approve student teacher placements and students transfers (all levels, including in and out of district).
    • Provide oversight and supervision to all district directors.
    • Review and manage Critical Incident Reports and Expulsions.
    • Oversee school safety, PLTW and High Ability Programs.
    • Serve as a school representative in community affairs. Maintain visibility at community events and functions and attend school events on a regular basis.
    • Participate in the Cradle to Career Collaborative Action Network (CAN) meetings.
    • In the absence of the CEO, assume responsibility for leadership of the school district.
    • Assist in the development and review of policies and administrative procedures.
    • Assume other responsibilities as assigned by the CEO.
    • Serve on corporation wide committees as may be assigned by the CEO.


    Knowledge and Skills


    • Strong knowledge of curriculum, instruction and best practices for assessment and other student related services.
    • Highly developed technology skills and the ability to effectively communicate in a variety of ways.
    • Strong organization skills to manage multiple issues simultaneously combined with ability to effectively prioritize. Ability to be discrete and protect the integrity of confidential information.
    • Highly developed interpersonal skills in order to relate to students, parents, staff and community. Ability to negotiate effective working relationships, and develop positive resolutions to conflict. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
    • Problem-solving and consensus building expertise.


    Minimum Qualifications


    Education:
    Master’s degree with a valid Indiana Superintendent’s license, preferred.


    Experience:
    A minimum of five (5) years’ experience in public school administration including experience as superintendent, assistant superintendent or district director preferred.
