Golf Superintendent - Assistant assists the Superintendent in the overall maintenance and care of the golf course, including turf/grass management, irrigation, and chemical applications (e.g., fertilizer, pesticides) to ensure quality playing conditions. Supervises personnel and participates in the maintenance of the golf course tees, greens, fairways, and cart paths. Being a Golf Superintendent - Assistant ensures adherence to golf course maintenance budget and capital plans. May serve in the Superintendent's capacity during absence. Additionally, Golf Superintendent - Assistant may require an associate degree. Typically reports to a golf course superintendent. Working team member that may validate or coordinate the work of others on a support team. Suggests improvements to process, is a knowledge resource for other team members. Position Summary The Assistant Superintendent will help assist with subcontractor scheduling and coordination, quality control, project and look-ahead schedule review, and administration of the Request for Information process in our Greensboro, NC region. Possess good problem solving and communication skills along with understanding how risk is managed as it relates to The Christman Company and to the project as a whole. The ability to plan work activities is a must for this position along with the ability to recognize safety concerns while promoting a quality and safety culture amongst our team, partners, and trade contractors.

Work Environment
The majority of work is completed outside at the construction site, and in an office trailer where they will monitor the project and make daily decisions about construction activities. The position is often exposed to sounds and loud noises, such as construction equipment. The job requires they wear protective equipment when on the construction site. (Hardhats, safety glasses, and highly visible clothing). Temperatures and conditions may vary depending on the weather and seasons.
Physical Demands While performing the duties of the job the employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, sit, reach with hands & arms, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. Also must be able to talk or hear to operate a computer, cell phone and telephone. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift or move up to 50 pounds.
Expected Hours of Work Full time position, Occasional extended hours and nights may apply.
Travel Travel to and from the construction site is required, majority of the work will be done at the site. Most of the travel will be local, but some long distance and overnight travel may be required depending on the project.
