Golf Superintendent - Assistant assists the Superintendent in the overall maintenance and care of the golf course, including turf/grass management, irrigation, and chemical applications (e.g., fertilizer, pesticides) to ensure quality playing conditions. Supervises personnel and participates in the maintenance of the golf course tees, greens, fairways, and cart paths. Being a Golf Superintendent - Assistant ensures adherence to golf course maintenance budget and capital plans. May serve in the Superintendent's capacity during absence. Additionally, Golf Superintendent - Assistant may require an associate degree. Typically reports to a golf course superintendent. Working team member that may validate or coordinate the work of others on a support team. Suggests improvements to process, is a knowledge resource for other team members. Mineral Mound State Park Golf Course is seeking to hire the position of Golf Course Assistant Superintendent. This positon at Mineral Mound performs the role of Assistant Superintendent for the golf course.
Duties for this position include but are not limited to:- Chemical applications
- Irrigation repair and operation
- Staff management
- Record keeping
- Performs other duties as assigned

Experience and/or education in the area of Turfgrass Management.- Golf course maintenance experience a plus.
- Good communications skills.
- Chemical and fertilizer applications.

- Leadership, teamwork, and decision-making skills.
- Experience leading small groups of staff.

Minimum RequirementsEDUCATION: High School Graduate
EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, OR SKILLS: Two years experience working on a golf maintenance staff for a regulation golf course.
Substitute EDUCATION for EXPERIENCE: An Associate's degree in plant sciences or a Certificate of Turfgrass Management from an accredited university can substitute for ONE of the required two years of working experience.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS (AGE, LICENSURE, REGULATION, ETC.): Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license to qualify for employment in this job classification. Must obtain Kentucky Pesticide Applicator License within six months of employment. The N-18 Pesticide Applicators License required by this position can be obtained by passing the test administered by the Kentucky Department of Agriculture. Must maintain any required licensure(s), certification(s), or other credentials for the length of employment in this job classification.
