Golf Superintendent - Assistant assists the Superintendent in the overall maintenance and care of the golf course, including turf/grass management, irrigation, and chemical applications (e.g., fertilizer, pesticides) to ensure quality playing conditions. Supervises personnel and participates in the maintenance of the golf course tees, greens, fairways, and cart paths. Being a Golf Superintendent - Assistant ensures adherence to golf course maintenance budget and capital plans. May serve in the Superintendent's capacity during absence. Additionally, Golf Superintendent - Assistant may require an associate degree. Typically reports to a golf course superintendent. Working team member that may validate or coordinate the work of others on a support team. Suggests improvements to process, is a knowledge resource for other team members. DUTIES: Under the general supervision of the Golf Professional, is a key member of the golf operations team and assists in managing all golf related activities. Performs entry to intermediate level professional golf work.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Must have a high school diploma or GED.
Experience: One year of experience in golf course operations, including golf shop duties under a Class A PGA professional. Licenses/Certifications: Valid Driver's license. Special Qualifications: Demonstrated progress towards fulfilling requirements for PGA Certification. Enrollment in a program to attain Class "A" PGA/LPGA membership status at the time of application or by the end of probation. Enrollment in a program must be continuous, and satisfactory progress otherwise maintained until Class "A" membership is maintained.
SALARY: Salary Range (Minimum to Max): $20.15 to $32.24. Typical Hiring Range: $20.15 to $26.20 depending on experience and qualifications. SCHEDULE: 40 hours per week. Varies. Evenings, weekends, and holidays may be required.
