Job Summary
The City of Fort Collins is home to some of the best golf available in northern Colorado. The City is currently hiring for an Assistant Superintendent, Parks (Golf) position (1 of 2) who will supervise, delegate, schedule, and coordinate work activities for a crew of 5-15 seasonal workers and one full-time technician at City Park 9 Golf Course. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The following duties and responsibilities are illustrative of the primary functions of this position and are not intended to be all inclusive.

Oversees daily golf course maintenance operations.

Performs duties of workers supervised such as mowing, raking, sweeping, landscaping, and watering turf and grounds; monitoring turf grass diseases and applying chemicals; maintaining and repairing equipment and buildings; installing, maintaining, and repairing irrigation and pumping systems.

Issues supplies and equipment to crew members and monitors repair of equipment.

Provides interpretation of City policies and safety regulations.

Coordinates projects for the maintenance of the golf course with other departments.

Provides customer service by listening to concerns, responding to complaints, answering questions, providing information, etc.

May track budget and inventory.

Provides supervision to classified, hourly and contractual employees.

Performs snow removal duties

Repairs electrical problems in controllers, pumps and electrical valves associated with sprinkler irrigation systems.

Manages a flexible work schedule including hours of the day, weekends, and holidays.

May be required to obtain certifications including irrigation auditors.

May be required to obtain licenses including a Commercial Driver's License class B, and a Colorado Department of Agriculture Qualified supervisors License with turf and or ornamental endorsements.
Required Education
MINIMUM/PREFERRED
EDUCATION LEVEL
Minimum
College degree or equivalent work experience. Preferred education - Associate's degree from an accredited college or university in turf management, horticulture, or a related field.
Experience Requirements

Three to five years related experience.
