Government Affairs Director implements strategic plans and oversees engagement objectives to develop and maintain productive relations with all levels of government authorities that will support and enhance the businesses' goals. Manages teams that build relationships and liaise with government entities(federal, state, provincial, or local) that regulate or influence business activities. Being a Government Affairs Director performs ongoing monitoring and analysis of proposed legislation, emerging issues, and trends to determine the potential impact on the organization. Collaborates with industry groups and organizations with complementary objectives to achieve objectives. Additionally, Government Affairs Director creates communication vehicles and delivers messaging to inform and support business leaders. Requires a bachelor's degree in public policy, public administration, business or equivalent. Typically reports to a director. The Government Affairs Director typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. To be a Government Affairs Director typically requires 3+ years of managerial experience.     Your Specific Responsibilities:

    Assists with the creation and maintenance of contracts, this includes writing contracts in adherence to State of Florida guidelines. Assists in the preparation and compiling of grant documents. Assists with reconciliation of the computerized Florida Accounting Information Resource (FLAIR), this includes reconciliation of cash, disbursements, receipts, and invoices. Assists with Accounts Receivable as required.

    Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

    • Knowledge of accounting principles, practices and procedures.
    • Knowledge of the methods of data collection
    • Ability to Plan, organize and coordinate work assignments.
    • Ability to work with minimal supervision.
    • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.
    • Ability to collect, analyze and interpret accounting data.
    • Ability to work in a team environment.
    • Ability to utilize problem solving techniques.
    • Ability to prepare financial statements and reports.
    • Ability to reconcile balance sheet accounts.
    • Ability to understand and apply rules, regulations, policies and procedures relating to an accounting program.
    • Ability to prepare and maintain a variety of accounting records.
    • Ability to communicate effectively.

    Qualifications:

    One-year experience in the creation and or maintenance of contracts.

    One-year experience in grant application and or management.
