    Summary

    The role’s primary responsibility is to execute and monitor community and public projects and processes aligned with the Company's AgriBusiness strategies, reflecting our commitment to being a valued member of the communities we operate in and a leader in Agriculture.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Builds and fosters collaborative relationships with community leaders and influencers and internal stakeholders in support of the business objectives.
    • Collaborates with AgriBusiness Mining and Manufacturing sites in their community outreach strategies
    • Develops public consent strategies and supports corporate and local management in the execution of approved strategies. Accountable to V.P. Mining and Manufacturing.
    • Schedules and conducts outreach activities with western school districts and schools supporting education of agriculture, plant nutrition, and the JR Simplot Company
    • Develops and directs Farm Safety Days in Simplot markets through partnership with the Progressive Farm Foundation, targeting retail customers and farm families. Accountable to AgriBusiness President.
    • Research and write articles and speeches for senior management as required. Provide support for Company sustainability projects.
    • Supports activities of Simplot Games
    • Other activities as required


    Typical Education

    • Bachelor's Degree (B.A. or B.S.) from 4 year college or university

    Relevant Experience

    • A minimum of 5 years’ experience developing communication or community relations materials and programs.
    • Event management experience required.
    • Must have exceptional written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to work with all levels of the organization, and across all businesses and communities we operate in; requires the ability to lead teams towards successful completion of activities, including those that do not report directly to the position or department; must possess the ability and desire to develop an understanding of our businesses and industries and the environments we operate in; must have the ability to represent the Company in a confident and convincing manner; requires the demonstrated ability to use appropriate interpersonal styles and communication methods to gain acceptance of thoughts, plans, activities, etc.; must have the ability to establish strong relationships both internally and externally, and to adjust priorities as necessary.
