    The Job

    Own's in-house Creative Studio is looking for a proactive, self motivated, Graphic & Digital Design Intern to support our efforts in all areas of design. A background in video production, including editing, motion design, and visual effects is a plus. This role will report directly to the Creative Operations Manager as well as work closely with other members of the Marketing team.

    Program Dates: June 3rd, 2024 - August 16th, 2024

    Your Day-to-Day Role
    • Create and execute digital design projects: Assist the design team in creating various digital assets like website layouts, social media graphics, and email templates
    • Maintain and update digital platforms: Support the maintenance of digital platforms by making design updates, optimizing images, and ensuring consistent branding
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams: Work closely with marketing, content, and development teams to ensure that design elements are aligned with the overall brand strategy and objectives
    • Create and maintain design assets: Develop and maintain a library of design assets, such as icons, illustrations, and templates, to streamline the design process and maintain brand consistency across different platforms
    • Day-to-day delivery exhibits your creative abilities and strategic design concepts for all marketing channels including, but not limited to print, digital, social media, sales collateral, presentations and web
    • Work with teammates to maintain creative consistency across channels, ensuring all projects align with our brand strategy and creative vision
    • Be a champion for the brand and uphold brand standards in all design applications
    • Contribute to the maintenance and organization of design files and assets
    • Collaborate cross-functionally with members of social, communications, product marketing and other teams across the organization
    • You will be supporting the team by designing custom graphics, live event visual deliverables
    • Help maintain and assist in keeping our digital presence updated that align with the Own brand.
    Your Work Experience
    • Currently enrolled in a 4-year accredited college or university
    • Pursuing a degree in Visual Art, Graphic Design, or equivalent
    • 1 years of graphic design and/or multimedia experience
    • Strong understanding of design principles
    • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively with a team
    • Highly motivated with the ability to support all areas of creative, including video production
    • Ability to manage project deliverable timelines and deadlines
    • Highly organized and dependable; able to multitask and work quickly
    • You have a strong understanding of design principles; typography, grids, color, etc. Hands on experience with the core Adobe Creative Suite apps is a must.
    • Important "soft skills" include attention to detail, conceptual thinking, ability to think on your feet, work independently, and be open to feedback.
    • It is required that this role has excellent collaboration and communication skills and can relate to one of our corporate values by taking their work seriously, but not themselves.
    Skills
    • Knowledge of website and graphic design principles
    • Adobe Creative Suite; Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Premiere, AfterEffects
    • Figma experience is a plus
    • Knowledge of industry presentation tools (e.g. Google Slides, Keynote)
    • Strong communication skills and the ability to work with minimal supervision
    • Self motivated with a proactive work ethic, with the ability to take ownership of the task at hand to help drive production forward
    • Teamwork and collaboration
    • Organized, able to multitask and project management awareness
    • Basic HTML, CSS, and web design fundamentals

    Important Details

    The Own Company Emerging Talent Program is a paid, 10-week learning experience in which interns collaborate closely on company projects and initiatives in their respective professional areas of interest. Interns also work in teams throughout the summer on a specific project, which is presented to our senior leadership team at the end of the summer.

    This role will require you to work from our Englewood Cliffs, NJ office to maximize collaboration and interaction with the marketing team. Travel to events may be required.
