Utilization Management Coordinator - Denials, Appeals & Grievances
The main duties of the UM Coordinator are : to coordinate and monitor appropriate utilization and documentation of services throughout the course of treatment for patients admitted to the inpatient and outpatient programs and coordinate authorization with third-party payors.
UM Coordinators also review cases for appropriateness of admission, continued stay, and discharge planning. They assist in the promotion and maintenance of high quality patient care through the analysis, review and evaluation of clinical practices within the Behavioral Health Center.
Other duties include; recommending plans of corrective action and monitoring the impact of the action taken; maintaining communication system based on documentation and verbal exchange regarding treatment;
and communicating with internal and external entities to facilitate acquisition of resources.
