Group Exercise Manager

  • This position will oversee all aspects of the Group Fitness program for the McPherson location; including hiring, recruiting, scheduling and training new Group Ex Staff. This includes, but is not limited to, working with the VP of Group Fitness and other Group Exercise Managers to constantly develop and grow the success of program.

    Duties and Responsibilities:

    1) Lead and Support Coordinators, emphasizing

      • Adherence to the Department & Employee Manuals
      • New Member Integration
      • Social Media Presence
      • Focus on KPIs
      • Redline Class Reduction
      • Consistency in studios, equipment & sound systems
    2) Grow Quality Teams

      • Connect with GEMs via calls, regular club visits, and monthly meetings
      • Host Instructor Recruiting Events
      • Monitor training needs and recruit for trainings
      • Ensure Rookie Training Process is being upheld
      • Offer continuing education opportunities
      • Schedule and host team meetings
      • Require annual instructor assessments, & grow group ex team
    3) Event Planner

      • Seek partnerships with local teams, businesses, etc.
      • Develop corporate partnership contests and promotions
      • Ensure regular events, like Launches, are consistently offered at all clubs
      • Create opportunities for specialty, one-time classes
    4) Regional Manager Department Support

      • Provide information as needed on
        • Schedules
        • Events
        • Clock in/out of instructor team
        • KPIs
      • New Member Integration: 20% Take Charge completion
      • CPH decrease of 10% vs prior year
      • Meet or exceed individual club’s social media goals
      • Grow total number of classes based on growth of department attendance
    Job Requirements:

    • Available to work weekends and evenings and holidays
    • Must hold current CPR certification or obtain within 60 days of start date
    • Certification by A.C.E., A.S.C.M., N.S.C.A., MOSSA, Les Mills or other nationally recognized certification
    • Ability to work well with others
    • Customer service abilities
    Physical Requirements:

    • Ability to stand for long periods of time
    • Ability to lift up to 35 pounds
    • Ability to communicate with guests and other associates, including reading, writing and speaking
