Wieland is hiring a GROUP LEADER 3RD SHIFT. The GROUP LEADER 3RD SHIFT will be responsible for leading and coordinating activities of a team of production associates in the fabrication and/or assembly of HVAC equipment. This Group Leader position reports to the Production Supervisor.

This role is located in Verona, VA and will be fully on-site.

Starting Pay: $30-$35/ hour depending on experience

Schedule: 3rd shift (Sunday - Friday 10pm-6am)

GROUP LEADER 3RD SHIFT Responsibilities:

Ensures team member's adherence to specified standards of safety, quality, operating procedures, and Company policies by acting as a positive role model and by demonstrating behavioral standards in accordance with company policies.
• Takes appropriate corrective action to address behaviors/actions that are non-compliant.
• Ability to read, interpret, understand and work from engineering drawings, schematics, bills of material, and routings and other forms of instruction either (written/electronic/verbal).
• Communicate with Production Supervisor for seamless handover of production schedule.
• Conduct daily Tier 1 meetings at start of shift to review and communicate daily production objectives, goals, and safety related information.
• Interpret job orders and assigns duties to appropriate team members.
• Adjusts manpower as needed to meet production schedules and shift goals.
• Recommends measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product.
• Suggests changes in working conditions, use of equipment, or techniques to increase efficiency of department and/or team.
• Analyzes and resolves or assists production associates in solving work problems.
• Motivates associates to achieve work goals and timelines.
• Assists with periodic review and update of job descriptions of team members.
• Educates team members to empower the team and maximize performance.
• Ensures product conformance to specifications and directs setup and adjustments of machines as necessary.
• Maintains time, production, and performance records of each team member.
• Make recommendations to the Production Supervisor to hire, terminate, or change status of employees.
• Periodically performs activities of workers supervised.
• Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned as needed.

GROUP LEADER 3RD SHIFT Qualifications:

• Demonstrates skill as a leader.
• Accepts and delegates responsibility for processes affecting the organization's long-term goals.
• Interacts effectively with all levels of personnel within the organization.
• Performs to highest level of self-discipline and ethics to protect the company's interests.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous experience managing/leading a group of production associates preferred.
• Knowledge of applicable ASME Code regulations preferred.
• Production environment with daily administrative duties.
• Involves periods of sitting at desk and iPad, standing, walking, and negotiating stairs, ladders, elevated catwalks and platforms in hot or cold production environment on slippery surfaces for the purpose of directing operations and evaluating situations.
• Perform duties under pressure of deadlines.
• Based upon business needs, an individual may be reassigned to another position either temporarily or permanently, at any time, with or without notice.
