Job Description:

The Cellar Hand plays a crucial role in supporting the winemaker throughout all stages of operations, from harvest to bottling. This includes various tasks such as racking, filtering, lab work, bottling, labeling, barrel maintenance, and record-keeping.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct racking, filtering, and bottling of wines with precision and efficiency.
• Actively seek opportunities for continuous improvement, including process enhancements and cost-saving initiatives.
• Maintain cleanliness of equipment, pumps, hoses, storage tanks, vessels, and work areas.
• Assist in vineyard maintenance tasks such as pruning, tying, weed control, cover cropping, canopy maintenance, and harvesting.
• Uphold high standards of care and cleanliness for all tools, equipment, and facilities.
• Ensure adherence to relevant safety standards to prevent accidents or injuries.
• Collaborate closely with the winemaker during harvest, fermentation, tank management, and bottling processes.
• Facilitate the delivery and movement of products from production lines to storage and shipping areas.

Required Skills:

• Excellent organizational and communication skills.
• Flexibility to work varying hours and respond to communications outside of regular office hours.
• Physical stamina to withstand extended periods on one's feet, including potential 12-hour workdays.
• Ability to lift and maneuver heavy objects safely.
• Proficiency in technical aspects related to wine equipment safety standards, upgrades, and maintenance.
• Experience operating tractors and forklift equipment.
• General knowledge of and hands-on experience in commercial beverage production.

Job Description:

The Celler Hand is responsible for Assist winemaker with all aspects of operations from Harvest to Botterling. This incudes but is not limited to- racking, filtering, lab work, bottling, labeling, barrel maintenance, record Keeping

Job Duties (to include, but not limited to the following):

Racking, Filtering and Botteling of Wine

Proactively seek continuous improvement opportunities including process improvements and cost saving opportunities.

Cleaning equipment, pumps, hoses, storage tanks, vessels and floors.

Vineyard maintenance including- Pruning, tying, weed control, cover cropping, canopy maintenance, and harvest.

Maintain a high standard of care and cleanliness of all tools, equipment, and facilities.

Ensure all work activities meet relevant safety standards to prevent accidents or injuries.

Work alongside our winemaker on Harvest, Fermentation, Tank Management, and Bottleing of all products.

Delivery of products and movement of products from production lines into storage and shipping areas

Required Skills:

Exceptional organizational and communication skills.

Flexible hours and the ability to respond to emails, phone calls, and text messages outside of normal office hours.

The ability to be on one’s feet for extended periods of time- Sometimes 12 hour work days

The ability to lift and move heavy objects.

Strong technical skills to provide a working knowledge of the safety standards, upgrading, and maintenance of wine equipment.

Experience operating tractors and forklift equipment.

General knowledge of and hands-on experience with commercial beverage production.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00 - $24.00 per hour
