Hard Tile Setter covers tabletops or other surfaces with mosaic tile squares to form decorative design. May require a high school diploma or its equivalent. Being a Hard Tile Setter may have to complete an apprenticeship and/or formal training in area of specialty with 2-4 years of experience in the field or in a related area. Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field. Additionally, Hard Tile Setter relies on limited experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. J&M Flooring is seeking full-time residential Tile Setter Apprentices to join our growing team! We are looking for dependable, motivated candidates who can take direction, work with little supervision, and exceed goals. This position consists of some demo, preparation for new tile and the tile installation process. Candidates must be willing to learn how to power tools. We are willing to train the right candidate (no prior tile experience necessary). Attention to detail is a must. Construction experience is preferred. This position reports to the Project Manager. Work schedule is Monday – Friday 7am-4pm.
Tile Setter Apprentice Specific Duties include:
· Effective and regular communication with on-site personnel and project manager
· Making sure tile preparation meets manufactures recommendations
· Ensuring work quality meets company and customers’ expectations
· Responsible for all equipment and materials
Tile Setter Apprentice Qualifications and Skills:
· Ability to prioritize work to meet established deadlines
· Must have a positive attitude and willingness to learn
· Applicants must be able to do physical work and be able to lift/carry 35-80 pounds often
· Able to safely work with a wide variety of equipment
· Applicants must have a valid driver’s license and clean driving record
