    Where is this opportunity located? 

    • This position is open to candidates eligible to work in the U.S and will work from corporate offices in Brookings, SD; home to our state-of-the-art EMI testing chamber, engineering labs, and several manufacturing facilities.  

    What will work look like for me? 

    • Design, develop, and maintain devices likely utilizing some of the following:  
      • Embedded firmware development for microcontrollers and microprocessors using C, C .  
      • Embedded Linux system development using C . 
      • FPGA development using VHDL. 
      • Automated unit and component test development using C# and C .
      • Video/Image processing with standard video interfaces (DisplayPort, HD-SDI, HDMI, etc.). 
      • Utilize/develop proprietary interfaces for high-speed data transmission.  
    • Work in Team centric environment grounded in Agile values and principles continuously evolving our practices:  
      • Work in cross-functional team closely with PCB designers, Hardware technicians, Software developers, and other skillsets.  
      • Iterative development in Sprint based cycles.  
      • Scrum Stand-ups and Product Backlog Planning Events.  
      • Continuous Integration and Delivery Pipelines.  
      • Use tools like Microsoft Azure DevOps, Git, Microsoft Teams.  
      • Contribute to architecture design, work breakdown, and code reviews. 
    • Seek and incorporate feedback from team members, stakeholders, suppliers, and customers.  
      • Leverage experience by asking insightful questions to help clarify the work while openly seeking input from others.  
      • Leverage retrospectives and experiments in continuous improvement.  
      • Frequent product demonstrations and integration events with stakeholders/customers.  
      • Troubleshoot and address customer escalations and improvement opportunities. 

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Software Engineering from an ABET accredited institution is required.  
    • 6 years industry experience in developing applicable products and technology.  
    • Approachable, respected engineer by both peers and leaders. 
    • Experience using one or more of the following languages C/C /C#/VHDL is preferred.  
    • Excellent troubleshooting/problem solving skills.  
    • Be self-motivated and curious to learn and grow throughout your entire career.  
    • Effectively exercise discretion and independent judgment. 
    • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.  
    • Fluent in English, written and verbal.
